Oven liner although there are probably cheaper places to get it from.

I only say 'Oven Man' because an 'Oven Lady' hasn't turned up yet. Grin

Locketjuice · 10/12/2013 07:09

I want my oven to clean itself Hmm

NoComet · 10/12/2013 07:11

mine is given a quick wipe now and again

livinginawinterwonderland · 10/12/2013 07:18

I need to do ours but I'm lazy. Can't afford to get someone in to clean it. I may give it to DP as an allocated job over Christmas.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/12/2013 07:48

Hehe just looked at the oven liner link and one of the reviews reads "no more messy over bottoms!" Grin

Tailtwister · 10/12/2013 07:51

I do the regular cleaning myself, but get someone in one a year to do a proper clean.

Ragwort · 10/12/2013 07:54

Tail - I assumed having a professional clean once a year was the 'regular' cleaning. Grin

MrsDavidBowie · 10/12/2013 07:54

I have a little man in twice a year.
It makes me so happy.

SlicedLemon · 10/12/2013 07:58

I am 41 and only attempted cleaning the over once. Loads of foamy stuff started to ooze out door edges and stained the kitchen floor.

Since then I have decided to go for the wok approach. Kind of hope it adds to the flavour.
We live in military housing where your oven is supposed to be absolute spick and span and not even look like it has ever been used. So we just don't use our issue cooker. It's in storage and my wok stylee over has been put in its place.

optimusic · 10/12/2013 08:03

I pay one of the dc's to do it. The shelves get put in the dishwasher and the rest is steamed cleaned. Comes up gleaming.

TheNaughtySausage · 10/12/2013 09:57

Oh, oh! I didn't even know there were magic oven people! My oven is a disgrace but I'm lazy - this is going on my list for my first pay cheque after mat leave!

notanotherusername1 · 10/12/2013 10:07

I had a company in for the first time and the oven looked brand new. Never again will I clean it myself when someone else can get it looking so good.

Topseyt · 10/12/2013 17:43

I have thought of an oven liner before and never done it. I might actually bite the bullet and get one when I go out to finish the Christmas shopping next week. Smile

Most of the time when I do a roast dinner I do it in a large lidded roaster so that there is virtually nothing in the way of spills. Other things do sometimes spatter though. A wipe clean oven liner would be great.

Amy106 · 10/12/2013 18:13

My dh does it. He does a great job.

landrover · 10/12/2013 19:05

I have an Aga (smug) you don't have to clean it!!!!!! Wine

BeyondTheLimitsOfXmasability · 10/12/2013 19:16

FAO everyone - Public service announcement

Poundland do a version of ovenpride that is awesome

:)

pianodoodle · 10/12/2013 19:22

I do neither :)

SheldonsLeftFlipFlop · 10/12/2013 19:28

Yep I do it once a month with oven pride. Nothing else on the market compares. (And it's also great for cleaning paving slabs and alloys!)

It's an absolute doddle to do, no scrubbing or owt.

Fairylea · 10/12/2013 19:37

I do mine everyday once it's cooled down at the same time as I do the kitchen. I use a lot of washing up liquid and a big sponge and give it a good scrub. Because I do it everyday it never really gets mucky and doesn't take long.

I used to work as a restaurant manager so I guess some things have rubbed off on me!

Vintagecakeisstillnice · 10/12/2013 19:40

Do it do it do it, get the magic oven cleaner person in. .

I figured out that with what I make an hour it was cheaper to get someone in. .

LizzieVereker · 10/12/2013 19:45

I don't, DH does. He is thorough, I am slapdash. Grin

BobaFettTheHalls · 10/12/2013 19:46

DH does it as I broke the door catch last time I did.

Although we don't use it that often so it doesn't need cleaning much.

Madamecastafiore · 10/12/2013 19:47

Oven man comes and does it. I have neither the time nor the inclination.

Bearbehind · 10/12/2013 19:47

The best oven cleaning stuff I've ever used is the gel from Lakeland- it's bloody brilliant- just paint on, leave for 3 hours and wipe off. It doesn't smell and gets even the racks sparkling.

SlicedLemon · 10/12/2013 19:58

I must be the only oven sloven here. Blush
