To think Katie Hopkins has gone too far this time to tweet about low life expectancy in Scotland.

She's a hired gun, I get that she's paid to be provocative but tweeting about a low life expectancy in Scotland in derogatory terms yesterday of all days is a comment too far. There's a twitter storm about her comments and a petition asking tv channels to not use her services again. I hope they take notice.

I know almost nothing about her and from the things I just googled I probably wouldn't like her, but there is no reason to think the tweet had anything to do with the accident.

If she had made it a week earlier someone could have found some road accident to point to and say "see! she is tweeting about that".

And this is probably the original source of what she was referring to. Not terribly accurate, but perhaps one of the tabloids had printed the most dramatic figure.

Tbh i can't see what itv want with her sour trout as most people turn over when she is on!!

She is posh with no class and is paid to insult & intimidate the public with her hypocritical views! "I don't do place names" yet her dd is called India, pot, kettle, black.

I would normally ignore her, because I don't want to give the guff she calls opinion oxygen.

But this time, no. I'm Glaswegian and the sadness and disbelief over this is still palpable. She knew fine well what she was doing. What a sad, sad prick she is. Ours is a compassionate city, as the past few days have shown. She's exactly the kind of 'I'm alright, Jack,' braying twat who wouldn't be welcome here.

It's people like her and others in the English media that will make people think I might as well vote yes.
Her views along with the rest of the panel on independence on TWS last week was the most patronising and PA discussion I've ever seen on the programme.

she's a dick, but honestly worry for her safety. I think someone is going to top her one day- I can't think of another public figure so universally loathed.
