in thinking that DH should take DS to the Christmas Fair?

I have to work on Saturday which is the day DS's shool Xmas fair is being held. DS is SO excited about it. I absolutely cannot take him, but DH could.

However, Dh really and truly hates going. Absolutely, completely and utterly hates it. So he says he will not be taking DS. There is no reason why he should not go - he just refuses to because he hates it so much.

He is BU, is he not? Surely he should just suck it up for a few hours and take DS to the bloody fair?? DS will be so upset if he cannot go.

I would take DS if I could (as I have done over the past few years!) but I cannot. Sad Angry

Or is DS BU?

REPORT BACK:

I got home from work tonight and DH asked if I still had to go in tomorrow. I said yes, so he let off a string of "£%£&%$"$%. I asked why that response?? He then said that it would mean he had to take DS to the Xmas fair then seeing that I was working.

Clearly he had thought about it and come to decision to take DS after all.

Happy ending Grin

Tell him to hit and run!

In, a go on the tombola, a go on the guess the name of the teddy/doll/gimp, visit santa, buy raffle tickets, leave. All done in under an hour (less if you manage to be at the front of the Santa queue when the grotto opens!). Then off to Macdonalds for a treat!

Glad he has had a rethink! I agree that it needn't take forever! 90 minutes max... Plus, he will forever have the moral high ground when DS grumbles about not wanting to do this and that in the future.

He is the type of person who blows up about things, then has a think, simmers down and agrees that I am right! Love him (mostly!)

Oh dear Cheese when I read your post, I didn't notice your name & therefore read it as "Things I hate about being parent - A. Cheese "
I laughed out loud at the first on the list(A) & then became confused by others responses. Just saying!

Oh I haven't finished.

Having to watch bad dance routines

Ignore the bad and praise the good like trying to find a jewel in a slurry pit some days

The stropping when I dare to not know the answer to something......never mind the fact they asked.

Bad singing. No dd, you cannot sing.....well you can but it scares the neighbours cats.

Hormones

Having to give a shit over shit not worth a seconds thought.

Leaf kicking.........and ending up with dogshit caking trainers.
Ditto snow.

over peoples children.

Havingto speak to other peoples children.

And share their airspace on occasion.

The words I ^want^

The words Can I have

Muuuuuuuuummmmmmmm.

Im going to write a book and call it the parenting shitlist Wink

Can I add one?

"Mummy, we have made up a play for you to watch"

Oh, have you? Lovely.........

REPORT BACK: DS says the fair was "quite boring"!!!

Regarding the joys of parenting, don't you just love the "Muuuuum! Come wipe my bottommmm!"requests?
