To think that Philip Schofield is a monumental arsehole?

I was just on the DM website, browsing the side bar of shame and came across this

www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2514492/Phillip-Schofield-says-Rebecca-Adlington-shouldnt-Im-A-Celeb.html

Now I don't particularly disagree with him in principle, however it would have been far more professional for him to keep his stupid, arrogant mouth shut. But having witnessed him on This Morning in recent years it's becoming increasingly clear that he thinks he's far more important than he actually is and that people actually giving a flying shit about what he thinks.

I think he's a smug, self indulgent knob and I can no longer watch This Morning because of him. Why is he still so popular?

Phil is fine. How can Rebecca be competitive and go for Queen of the Jungle when she can't participate? Love the girl and want her to do well but does anyone know why she has to opt out of everything for medical grounds? Surely she must be more physically fit than Mo off Eastenders or David Emmanuel (prob spelt wrong!)

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 27/11/2013 18:37

She's claustrophobic, I think.

RunDoctorRunQuiteFast · 27/11/2013 18:38

I loved the updated 'Ballad of Freda and Barry' that Victoria Wood did with the immortal line "let's be Fern and Phil and you can patronise me ...."

NewtRipley · 27/11/2013 18:41

Run Grin

I usually have TM on in the background. it just makes me angry when they do their money saving bits. Two millionaires telling us all how to save 50p on our fuel bills. If Martin Lewis is a millionaire-3.

mrspremise · 27/11/2013 18:46

Stop reading the Fail, then Hmm

ouryve · 27/11/2013 18:47

Lurcio - I've grown to expect and enjoy far more wisdom from Daddy Pig and Nanny Plum than any breakfast TV presenter.

Can't remember when I last bothered with daytime TV. I alternate between radio 2 and 6 music, instead. Mostly 6 music, lately.

LaRegina · 27/11/2013 18:48

I stopped watching TM years ago. Holly and Phil are fine at the job the do - which is basically presenting a (very) light-hearted showbiz gossip programme. But if you don't give a shit about celeb land it's all very dull IMO.

Say what you like about Richard and Judy but they were actually professional journalists who were more than capable of discussing real 'issues', and did that very well I think.

God I sound old.

Sparklingbrook · 27/11/2013 18:49

I have been enjoying Richard Madeley and Katie Hopkins on The Wright Stuff.

N4rk · 27/11/2013 18:54

He's actually quite nice, not arrogant etc, and down to earth.

I know him

IamInvisible · 27/11/2013 18:55

I watched it and agree with those who say they DM have blown it out of all proportion. It is a complete non-story.

Sparklingbrook · 27/11/2013 18:56

I struggle to dislike PS when I think about him and Emma Forbes on Going Live. So funny. And Trevor and Simon. Swing your pants.

NewtRipley · 27/11/2013 18:58

Sparkling

Yes. That was a funny show

LaRegina · 27/11/2013 18:59

I used to love Trevor and Simon Smile

Hangover TV at it's best!

And I did have a huge crush on PH in his early TV days. Now I look at him and think why?

LaRegina · 27/11/2013 19:00

Don't actually know who the fuck PH is Grin

Fairylea · 27/11/2013 19:01

Oh no you can't hate ps. He and Holly make This Morning worth watching.

(I must get out more).

lia66 · 27/11/2013 19:04

I questioned PS's parenting ideas once on Twitter when he likened parenting to breaking horses,

He followed me in order to send me a private message saying " oh bless you" ( there was more but can't remember the whole patronising sentence.

Then he unfollowed me so I couldn't reply via pm. Twat

FunkyBoldRibena · 27/11/2013 19:08

Sorry...but The alternative is Eamonn Holmes is not true...

Another alternative is to not watch tv at all. A much nicer alternative all round IMHO.

CiderBomb · 27/11/2013 19:27

Wow lia66. How childish. I'd expect that from a twelve year old but not a middle aged televions presenter. I unfollowed him on Twitter ages ago because he tweets such inane drivel. If he doesn't want people disagreeing with him then he shouldn't tweet.

Lemongrab · 27/11/2013 19:37

I love Phillip Scohfield. I wouldn't watch This Morning if he left, it just wouldn't be the same. Sorry.

sashh · 27/11/2013 19:44

What did he say?

AliceinWinterWonderland · 27/11/2013 19:47

The thing is, they could just as easily be excusing her from some because of her asthma. The two that were in the dark enclosed "caves" also have a lot of damp with dirt falling all about, which could easily aggravate her asthma. The one in the enclosed tube had a bunch of stuff coming down and enveloping them up to the neck, which restricts chest movement, again something that could be problematic. It may or may not affect her, but it's possible the medical personnel were just being cautious.

It seems unfair to blame her. She doesn't set up the trials. They obviously asked her to go and offered her payment, it's not her fault if she's excluded from some things.

I would like to think a television presenter would be aware of these facts, but obviously he either isn't bothered to check or is happy just running his opinion on national television without thinking. Why am I not surprised?

jonicomelately · 27/11/2013 19:52

I can't stand PS especially when someone mentions the royal family and he starts talking into the camera as if directly addressing the Queen. Obsequious knob.

He's a total lightweight when it comes to interviewing. Why don't they employ proper journalists instead of presenters?

WorraLiberty · 27/11/2013 19:54

I don't know why the Daily Fail are picking on Phil for saying this.

Loads of presenters have said exactly the same thing...including Richard Madely, Lorraine Kelly and the whole panel on the ITV 2 show.
