Does anybody have a freckle behind their eye?

Ive just been for a sight test and been told I have one, he's referred me to an eye doctor to take some pics and monitor it

He told me they're very common and not to worry but he would say that wouldn't he!

I suffer from anxiety and I'm already convinced that I'm gonna die and leave my daughter so I'm sat in my car in bits :(

Ps what's making me worry is I've not had him examine me before but I've been at the same opticians for a few years and no one has ever mentioned it and nothing is in my notes :(

My mum has. Nothing to worry about, they just like to keep an eye on it.

That sounded like a bad joke, no pun intended!

if it was an urgent problem you wouldn't be sitting in your car, you'd already be in hospital- try not to worry - easier said than done I know, try to distract yourself.

It's just the fact it's not been spouted before that is worrying me as if it's just grown, unless the other people weren't as thorough I suppose

Hi op,i do!they noticed it when I was small,maybe about ten years old.It has never been an issue for me and I have never had anyone mention it again at appointments and noone seems to think it is a problem.I have eye health checks every six months and I have never had any progressing issues from it.Im saying all this because I dont want you to worry because Im pretty sure you dont have too xx

I have, a freckle right by my optic nerve. I saw an eye doctor at the hospital (ophthalmologist I think, not sure of spelling!) who said it was fine, nothing to worry about. That was 10 years ago. Now all that happens is they take a look and a photo when I have my eyes tested to look for changes or anything but they've seen nothing so far. Go to the appointment to make sure but it's probably absolutely fine.

I have one and the consultant said it was nothing to worry about. They are only being spotted more commonly now because opticians have more powerful imaging equipment.

Yes! I have "unusual pigmentation" in the back of both my eyes and have done for the last ten years. Optician doesn't seem worried as long as I have keep going back for regular eye tests.

I have one which was discovered by an optician I'd never been to before. She referred me to hospital where they did a more extensive investigation and told me not to worry about it.

I wear glasses so visit optician yearly, no one discovered the freckle until I was midi forties!

Please don't worry.

Thank you I feel a bit better now

Not sure how I got through the rest of the test to be honest

I just hope the appointment comes through quick to put my mind at rest

My mum has something like this, it's only very recently been spotted (she's in her early 60s and has been wearing glasses for at least 10 years) and she had to go to the hospital to have it checked out. She was very worried too but it turned out to be nothing to worry about, just one of those things that some people have.

DH was told he had one a few months ago. He just saw an eye specialist (a professor) for something totally unrelated and he wasn't the slightest bit interested in his freckle!
It is very common apparently Smile.

Coco is his appointment for the freckle person not through yet?

This is going to be a right downer on my Christmas if I'm not seen before :(

Yes he had already had his appointment with the freckle dr (probably not his offical title). He said "yes its a freckle, nothing to be worried about" and basically that was it.

What KB02 said - I have one too, right by the optic nerve of my right eye. I had it checked out extensively by an ophthalmologist at hospital and it's all fine. I have yearly eye tests now just it make sure it doesn't get bigger or change shape. Don't worry, they are very common!

I had one spotted by a student and had a few people have a gander at it - I'm not as good as others here though and haven't had an eye test since Blush

I've got one on my cervix as well - that was a fun moment when that one was discovered. I had about four people just gazing up my fanny!

I have beattrack pigmentation ( frckles that look like bear tracks). Was tols quite unusual and lots of eye people have had a look. Nothing to worry about x

Oh yes I was told I had a 'freckle' at an appointment about 20 years ago. Never mentioned before or since!

I was sure he was keeping something from me before and I didn't believe how common it was

I do! Well a mole like you get on the skin. I even have a photo of it! I'd show you but no idea how to get it on here :(
