Fabulous actor? he talks with his teeth stuck together! and too fast (in Doc Who anyway)

EEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! skinny nothing on him. he looks like Mr Bennet the caretaker from 'Take Hart'.

formerbabe · 24/11/2013 18:03

Far too skinny for me!

squoosh · 24/11/2013 18:09

He obviously subscribes to the Jim Carrey acting style. Irritates me no end.

PosyNarker · 24/11/2013 18:13

I like him, but only when he's being The Doctor.

When not acting he's pinch-faced west coast string-bean. Which doesn't do much for me.

Next to Matt Smith though, he is the hotness.

Capaldi was quite hot when young though, but unconvinced he's aged well. Nonetheless I think he'll be a good doctor. I suspect part of the John Hurt thing was to get us used to a doctor who couldn't also be a pin up.

itsmeisntit · 24/11/2013 18:33

Hmmm l know his dad.
I went to High school with Steven Moffat who now writes Dr Who
For these reasons David Tennant......he is MINE
Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis

sheldor · 24/11/2013 18:39

I don't know if my mum showed my brother the letter. He died a fan though.Had all the doctor who toys.I think there was one he sadly didn't get to open at christmas.

SontaranForADestructiveStroll · 24/11/2013 18:43

I would much rather have a twizzle with Chris Eccleston. And actually Matt Smith has grown on me, I just don't fancy David Tennant.

still have something of a yen for Peter Davison actually

Bogeyface · 24/11/2013 18:45

Celebs often dont see most of the letters they get sent, especially if they are extremely popular and in demand as DT was during the Dr Who years. It may be that it wasnt him that actually wrote it, if it was then he was a twat obviously, but I am just saying that it may not have been his decision or his words.

sheldor · 24/11/2013 18:49

I think it was him by how he wrote 'i recieve many letters like these' etc but who knows you could be right bogeyface but my mum found the letter very cold

Mia4 · 24/11/2013 18:57

poster Thatisall, Go for it :)

superbagpuss · 24/11/2013 18:59

I did fancy DT, he even got a mention by my dad at my wedding

he will be sorry to hear he's looking old, and as he is now married and a dad I've decided to replace him with Benedict cumberbatch

Taz1212 · 24/11/2013 19:29

I do find him very attractive and I find that odd because he really isn't that attractive to look at. Don't know what it is about him but YANBU. Grin

TooOldForGlitter · 24/11/2013 19:38

I'm torn between fancying DT and finding him too skinny and studenty looking. I think the scottish accent helps. I'd probably still give him one just to see how it was. I know he'll be thrilled by my decision.

sheldor · 24/11/2013 19:41

I see that he was very nice to a lady that died from CS so he isn't all bad.Just think that when you respond to fans especially ones that are terminely I
ll wether it's actually him or not then i do think that it could be less cold wording.

specialsubject · 24/11/2013 21:27

Sheldor, sorry for your loss. Celebs get so many letters like this and cannot help everyone. Don't know of course, but guessing it was someone on the 'staff' who didn't think before typing. Really stupid and insensitive as obviously this will not be something you would forget.

He is beautiful. Those big brown eyes, weirdly translucent skin, just lovely.

I love him in Dr Who but I think Blackpool was his finest moment. And he speaks blank verse as though it is his natural way of talking: a genuinely fine Shakespearean actor. (Still hated the Richard II hair though.)

GideonKipper · 24/11/2013 22:59

JadedAngel you paint an...err...um...shall we say...'memorable'....picture?

NuggetofPurestGreen · 25/11/2013 11:53

The Richard II hair is horrible cash but he is brilliant in it. Best Shakespeare production I've ever seen I think.

squoosh · 25/11/2013 11:56

I hope never to encounter his skinny, peely wally, jabby willy. Yuck!

expatinscotland · 25/11/2013 12:13

Said it once, will say it again: he has the look of those strung-out weirdos hanging outside Gilmour Street station twitching about and asking for change. Boak. He's mingin'.

cashmiriana · 25/11/2013 12:26

The Richard II hair is horrible cash but he is brilliant in it. Best Shakespeare production I've ever seen I think.

I loved it, but it hasn't quite knocked the RSC 1991 Henry IV from its pedestal for me - Julian Glover as Henry, Michael Moloney as Hal, Robert Stephens as Falstaff, Owen Teale as Hotspur. Superb, best battle scenes ever.

The Branagh/ Kingston Macbeth earlier this year was more visceral and emotionally gripping than Richard II, but that's the nature of the play, and the NT Othello with Adrian Lester and Rory Kinnear literally had me on the edge of my seat.

We are so lucky to be able to see such quality theatre.

My real wish now is to see David Tennant play Shakespeare in his own accent. Will we have to wait for Macbeth for that?

MinesAPintOfTea · 25/11/2013 12:35

Totally would. He's yummy.

RaxacoricofallapatorianCatpuss · 25/11/2013 12:44
