...to LOVE the Crime Channels??

The Crime and Investigation Network and Crime ID are just the best channels....there is always something to watch on there when there is nothing on the main channels.

Anyone else think so??

Fucking love them. As does Dbro. I never admit this as it feels a bit odd to enjoy the programs.

Love 'em. Specially those really low-budget American shows they have in there. Find myself googling the crime to find out more.

On lifetime they do dramatisations of them. Have been watching prosecuting Casey Anthony and googling how the hell she wasn't convicted.

It does feel odd Krypt, that's for sure...but the documentaries are second to none re. research and interviews!!! I always find something to watch when the normal channels have nothing. They have stand-out documentaries like the Darkest Taboos series that is better than the BBC even!!!!

Did anyone see the 'Crimes that Shook Britain' series? The Garry Newlove episode made me cry.

I love them but then I haunt crime boards too. I actually thought I was going to melt down when Insessions shut down just before the Casey Anthony trial began.
still bitter that she walked on the murder charge after following the case for three bloody years

I got hooked when I was 12 on holiday in Florida and saw a JonBenet Ramsey doc. It baffles me that with all the technology etc people can get away with it.

I saw the Lin Russell crimes that shook Britain. I think the others are on my sky planner. DP does not get my obsession and won't watch any wimp

Yep Disappeared is notorious for that...we all wish the people featured are alive and well, but it just doesn't happen. I was really sad that the McStay family who featured on Disappeared was found dead and buried in a shallow grave. But not shocked.

I remember Ann Rule (best true-crime author ever!!!) said that her readers were v. gentle and loved people, and that was why they read her books.

I get what she meant...we want to know what these aberrations of humans were thinking when they killed someone - we also want to know the victims.

Krypt...what do you think of the Jeremy Bamber case?

I'm not sure. Going by what I've read here and there he had motive and could possibly have thought a schizophrenic sister shooting everyone would be believed. Then again I haven't read a great deal and there appears to be huge cock ups on the polices part and a fair few people who believe in his innocence.

From what I've read of his opinion and his ego then it's quite easy to see why he was convicted. Outsider adopted son, father doesn't think he's worthy of a real role in the business etc.

Ha! Me and Dbro can't think what we must have experienced to both be equally obsessed with stuff like this. I don't like the bank heist/fraud ones though. Mainly the murder docs.

I love the crime channels too. Have also read loads of books and magazines on true crime too, am absolutely fansinated by forensics. Wish I'd known about forensic science when I was at school, as it's certainly a career I'd have loved to have gone in to. I'm watching medical detectives on cbs reality+1 at the moment.

The Bamber case was on Channel 5 a couple of weeks ago, shortly after it was documented on CI Network.

It is the one case that I can't make heads nor tails out of....every other case I think I get.

I love True Crime...I have a jillion true crime books on my Kindle, but when I tell people that, instantly they think I am weird!!! :\

It's on catch up? Now I just need DP to go and get a fucking job (it's been 3 weeks. If it goes on much longer I might have my own documentary) and I can spend days watching it!
