The Crime and Investigation Network and Crime ID are just the best channels....there is always something to watch on there when there is nothing on the main channels.

Anyone else think so??

The Laci Peterson is another one that I followed on Insessions. I still have a little tiny doubt as to his guilt. There are a fair few incidents in the USA of people being murdered for their unborn babies. He was a philandering idiot but just maybe not a murderer, maybe!
The Casey Anthony case was just horrible. Because of the Sunshine Law in Florida every single piece of evidence is released prior to the trial so I had read loads over the years it took to bring her to trial. DH recognising my obsession even managed to stream the court hearing live for me so I watched most of the trial too.
When the not guilty verdict was announced I honestly thought I must have misheard.

Yes got 'if you really loved me too' although only just realised this so it must be on another bookshelf not with the others (I have a lot of books and although I like to keep similar genres with similar sometimes they escape and turn up on another bookshelf!) Grin

I've just realised that there are lots of Ann Rule books I haven't yet read ...

I've always found the Laci Peterson case sad because her baby seemed to be much wanted by her at least, it was interesting because they at first thought it was a case of the rare 'coffin birth' but then decided that the circumstances of the disposal of her body was the cause of her child's body being separated from hers.

Two other cases that stick in my mind are the ones where the victims were drowned after being disposed of like rubbish after the original intended crime was complete, I think it's because these murderers are so cold blooded even for murderers that they almost deserve their own category on the 'scale of evil'.

whereisthewitch · 23/11/2013 12:30

Scott Peterson in my mind is definitely guilty. His location in the day of her disappearance, his new boat, the homemade anchor weights, the indifference in the phone calls to his mistress, the fact that he told friends he didn't want the baby just adds up to guilt for me.

Poor Laci she was beautiful and so full of life, cases like that really affect me. Especially when an unborn baby is involved.

AliceinWinterWonderland · 23/11/2013 12:42

I agree, I think Scott Peterson is guilty.

The Susan Smith case is horrific, no question she's guilty, but god those poor kids.

Deborah Greene case also dreadful.

Kyrptonite · 23/11/2013 12:48

What's insessions? I'm really intrigued.

Scott is definitely guilty. Casey Anthony was definitely guilty. I still can't believe she got away with it.

Never watched these. But do find things like this fascinating but also scary. I'm a huge fan of criminal minds on sky living. I think the suspects are based in real people but as it's not real life I doesn't dvard me do much iyswim. No real life wrong'uns to worry about...

willowash · 23/11/2013 13:23

Has anyone watched the i survived programme? My mum got me hooked

AmberLeaf · 23/11/2013 13:40

I don't watch any of these programmes [but may do now!] but I am interested in cases like those.

My Granny used to buy those 'true crime' magazines many years ago and I'd sneak a read when I could.

There is a series of books written by a pathologist I think, she also had a part in solving the cases, I think they were based in Germany but not sure. No idea of the name of the author. They were really good.

Re Jeremy Bamber. Im open to the possibilty of his innocence.

The bit about him being outside the house with the police and both him and officers seeing movement inside the house was interesting.

Blueandwhitelover · 23/11/2013 14:30

Insessions was a crime discussion board, I was hyperventilating when it shut down just before the trial. There was literally a few hours warning of it shutting and all of us on the Casey board were frantically trying to find a new 'home'. Most of us have moved to justicequest now.
It's a good place to follow a crime and discuss evidence/motives/court proceedings. There are some good people on there. I first saw the news report on Sky of Caylee's disappearance and then followed the case from the first searches, Casey's arrest, the three years of waiting and the trial. It was (IMO) a total miscarriage of justice but fascinating to see how these things evolve from start to finish.

I've read a couple stories on the Wests. DH went to school with one of the older girls and grew up living a short walk from their house, so it seems to odd to think all that happened just near where we've been.

whereisthewitch · 23/11/2013 22:24

Really freaky. ..I was talking about Laci Peterson on this thread this morning and there was a film on tonight on freeviews Movies24 about the case with Dean Cain as Scott.

Kyrptonite · 23/11/2013 22:26

Dean Cain as in new adventures of superman? He's hot I may have to see if it's still on Grin

whereisthewitch · 23/11/2013 22:29

Yes the very one...Google Scott Peterson, the resemblance is actually uncanny, now I know why he landed the role!
The film is called The Perfect Husband.
