Uniform policy: Trousers must be black. No jeans, jean type, combat type, flared, ‘skinny’ or leggings

She wore them for the first time Friday and was told they weren't in line with uniform policy and if she wasn't in school in the right trousers on Monday then she would either be sent home to change or taught in isolation.

Black - yep.
Not skinny, flared, jeans, leggings, jean-type or combat type - as far as I can see, none of those

If they are going to send her home saying "your trousers are not right" then they really need to explain how they are not right in order that she can get some trousers are are "right".

I'm guessing that they're being thought of as "skinny" as they seem to taper in towards the ankle?

I think they look too slim for school trousers. They're not cut like a business trouser, really.

They look absolutely fine & would fit (pardon the pun) with our school uniform policy (which is quite strict too.)
You need the Head to clarify what is exactly wrong with them.

What h she worn today? The ones that you've linked to seem to fit the criteria that you were given.

I'd want to know exactly what they were objecting to and what they would suggest does fit their criteria.

If it's a "skinny" problem, then you can see from the very policy that they barely know themselves what they mean by "skinny" because they've put "skinny" in "inverted commas".

The school are being dickheads. Those are clearly school uniform trousers.

I don't see what's wrong with them either. I would definitely ask for clarification. YANBU. If they are going to be so picky they need to specify the actual trousers.

I was incredibly strict about uniform when I was a secondary teacher much more so than the others Whig I resented as I was following school policy and they weren't so I looked like the big bad wolf

If these trousers fit your dd the same way they fit the model even I can't find anything wrong with them! We sometimes had button issues but these were the shiny ones that went in a row down to the crotch, thus drawing attention to it, given that that particular style was really tight as well, but even that isn't an issue here. I can't see what their issue is!

They're tailored, "slim fit", not skinnies.

I'd swap the buttons and claim they're different trousers if challenged.

But I have a DD who is a very odd shape to clothe, so I tend to think it goes on and covers up the essentials that's all we can hope for.

I think it's the buttons. It won't cost you more than a pound to swap them, if you don't have enough from old clothes in the house already

I would ask what exactly the issue is with a link to the picture. If they say its the buttons just remove them.

She ended up with D&V on Sunday night so only went into school today.

I took her into reception, showed them the trousers, they said they were fine, fitted the school policy and lots of girls wore the same ones.

There seems to be a problem with staff all having their own interpretation on what is correct uniform, so, we'll see what happens when she comes in tonight.
