Going mad with sleep deprivation and need support!

OP posts:
Bumpsadaisie · 15/11/2013 09:02

Just turned 2, woke once at 11pm with cramp in his foot or hunger. He goes back to sleep if you repeat the story/song routine though, not too bad nowadays.

Ashinagai · 15/11/2013 09:10

9mo, slept through 7-7. Makes up for the hell that was 4 month sleep regression when he woke every 90 mins and was up for the day at 5! We implemented a solid routine and we cling to it. Good luck OP it does get better!

Insanityismymiddlename · 15/11/2013 09:11

10 week old slept 6pm-5am, my 3yr old woke at 9pm/2am and 4am but that's because she is poorly

Still not as bad as my now 4yr old who only slept for an hour a time until he was 2.5yrs sleep deprivation nearly killed me.

Bumblequeen · 15/11/2013 09:15

One week. Dc2 Does not have a bedtime as such. I woke to feed him three/four times.

I am coping far better this time around. Probably because I know what to expect and that it will pass.

LittleBabySqueakSqueak · 15/11/2013 09:17

Nearly 8 weeks, fed 10-12, slept 12-3.00 then 4.30-8.30. I feel alive today! That was a good night!

Cies · 15/11/2013 09:19

Dd 11mo woke/stirred about 20 gazillion times (perhaps slight exaggerationWink ). She has a cold and is snuffly.

Ds, 4yo , must have woken at least once because he and dh swapped beds and I woke up at 7 with a little bony knee in the small of my back.

All pretty normal here

Onsera3 · 15/11/2013 09:19

12 month old (teething , cold, bad reaction to this week's immunisations this week!) Usually sleeps 11 hrs. I put him down and watch him on baby monitor and dream feed if he stirs which is usually once or not at all. Then dream feed him again when I go to sleep. He usually stirs once a few hours later but I settle him with quick feed or cuddle. I co sleep and bf and always get to him before he wakes properly so he doesn't wake properly. Now if only he'd go back to waking before 5:30am!

Onsera3 · 15/11/2013 09:21

^ I mean AFTER 5:30 am

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 15/11/2013 09:21

7mo DS went down at 8pm, woke at midnight - BFd. Woke again at 2am so brought him into our bed and woke to get up at 7am!
That was a good night :(

Rooners · 15/11/2013 09:23

About 4 or 5 times I think, he is just 10 months and getting a new tooth by the sound of it,

He slept worse the night before. Got a bit of kip last night. Am co-sleeping and it's by far the easiest method as I'm with him when he needs me and don't have to get UP [bonus]

weebarra · 15/11/2013 09:27

12 week old DD woke at 3, settled again at 5. DS1 & 2 woke at 6.30. Not too bad, but I'm having chemo as well as children so am a bit tired.

Desiren · 15/11/2013 09:31

18 month old twins woke at 11 after going down at 8 then up at 3 again at 4.

BoohPear · 15/11/2013 09:40

Dd is 7 months. she was asleep for half 8, woke at 10, 12 and 2 then slept till about 7 where she chattered in her cot for an hour bad mummy was ignoring her! before I brought her into bed with me and she's been asleep for about 45 mins again so far.

TheHippywhowearsLippy · 15/11/2013 09:42

DS is 5mths & slept through from 9-6pm. This has just started this week, before that he was up twice in the night for feeds!

Melonbreath · 15/11/2013 09:44

12 months old and woken every hour last night.

Cookethenook · 15/11/2013 09:45

DS2 6m was up twice in the evening, came into our bed at 2, was restless from 3.30, fed at 4, up at 6. He has woken up with a stonking cold this morning though, so he's excused :D

Usually he's in bed by 7, dream feed at 10.30, feed at 4, up at 6/7.

MrsDeanAmbrose · 15/11/2013 09:46

6 weeks, had a feed at 11 when we went to bed, then again at 5 and currently asleep on me after getting a bit sniffly an hour ago

noblegiraffe · 15/11/2013 09:47

Dd 9 months old was up 5 times. This was an improvement on previous nights Hmm she slept beautifully until she was about 15 weeks then it just went downhill.

DS, 4, was up once. His covers fell off.

sleepyhead · 15/11/2013 09:47

7 months old and not sure as I've banned myself from looking at the clock so I tend to lose count in a haze of sleep deprivation.

I would guess every couple of hours (an improvement from hourly last week), so around 6 times between 7pm and 7am.

He was a fantastic sleeper, 13 solid hours from 7pm, until about 5.5 months and then started cutting multiple teeth at once. Since then I think 4 hours has been the longest block of sleep. Luckily he's pretty easy to settle with a bf or walking about for a bit, but it coincided with me returning to work so I feel pretty rough.

Aldwick · 15/11/2013 09:48

2 year old up at 11/3 5.30 and up for good just after 6.

7 year old had nightmares at 10 and 1

attheendoftheday · 15/11/2013 09:49

4 times, dd2 is 9 months.

It wasn't that bad a night, though, as she went straight to sleep each time, and I cosleep.

Binkybix · 15/11/2013 12:59

5 month old wouldn't settle at all (recurring theme) so he came in bed with me at about 9:30 then awake at 12, 2, stirred at 5, awake for day at 6:30ish. I've a cold, and it's taking me ages to get rid of it - I blame the sleep deprivation!

I just feed to sleep now as too tired to do anything else, but think it's prob a bad idea.

Then discovered our boilers broken so no nice shower. Where's my small violin?

CheshireDing · 15/11/2013 13:02

Think it is hard to compare OP as all babies are different.

PFB (just turned 2) woke at 2am and 5.45am. She has always been a bit of a naff sleeper though. Now and again she does sleep through

Wincher · 15/11/2013 13:05

This is quite reassuring really, reminds me that it's normal! ds2 is 9 weeks and had his best night ever last night, only waking twice between 10.30 and 7.30. I had planned today as a quiet day to catch up on rest but in fact I feel as fresh as a daisy!

sebsmummy1 · 15/11/2013 13:06

He slept through and is a few days off 12 months. He started sleeping through at about 10 months from memory.
