I miss Spangles and Toffos (especially the multi-flavoured ones), and Dracula Ice-lollies and Cabanas -oh, and more recently, Galaxy hazelnut bars which have been replaced by caramalised nut sickly ones, and piglets and smax. Why do they discontinue them? WHY?

Ooh, can't get the link to work, but if you google 'Richard Digeance - remembers' it might make you happy :)

I am very old

Shaky · 12/11/2013 22:15

Oh yes, I love this type of thread.

Barley sugars and Everton mints remind me of my grandad.

Those candy necklaces

Wham bars

Hedgehog flavour crisps

Acid drops

Strawberry feet ice creams.

Yum! It is a miracle I have this many teeth Grin

ScooseIsLoose · 12/11/2013 22:18

The green cream soda off the lemonade man,
Black currant and liquorice Bon bons.
Aniseed balls or the ones that were like aniseed balls but silver.
Desperate dan bars. Grin

splicer bars (80s I think) 'fruit' flavoured chewy stuff.
olde english spangles
fry's five centres
mojos
gambit
double agents
chocolate tools
pink panther chocolate
moose bars. (like milky way mousse).
that cloth bag of bubblegum that contained nuggets of 'gold'
treets (peanut in yellow bag, toffee in blue bag I think)

you can get creamola foam again, its now called krakatoa foam, the same stuff. raspberry was my favourite. btw, great thread Grin

Bettercallsaul1 · 12/11/2013 23:58

I have two words for you - Vesta curries!

Bettercallsaul1 · 13/11/2013 00:02

In packets, with dehydrated pieces of chicken etc! It was the last word in sophistication

honeybeeridiculous · 13/11/2013 07:38

jessica you better come to ours for Xmas and clear up all the orange and lemon slices Grin
And the old black magic were simply divine, proper coffee creams, mallows etc, not like today's rubbish

honeybeeridiculous · 13/11/2013 07:41

And we used to have vesta curries as a treat, they had crispy ringo type things that you had to deep fry, curry and ringos Hmm

WhatchaMaCalllit · 13/11/2013 07:42

Loved Pacers (like minty Opal Fruits/Starburst)

I really miss Fizzle Sticks. A sweet manufacturer tried to relaunch these in the last few years but they aren't the same as they used to be. I don't know if Fizzle Sticks were an Irish thing only or if they were also in the UK......

StatelyAsAGalleon · 13/11/2013 07:57

Those frozen mousses that had half a tinned peach in them. Pacers. Butterscotch instant whip. Maple and walnut table creams. When my dad cooked for us, we used to get tinned potatoes - odd, but I liked them. And my favourite "posh" dinner was a breaded turkey escalope with Crosse & Blackwell instant white wine gravy on it....mmmmmm....

3asAbird · 13/11/2013 07:59

Blimey how an no one mention my fave biscuit.
Trio trio I want a trio and I want one now!

I miss cadburys spiral.

roses not the same anymore

maccy ds old nuggets.

the old flavours in opal fruits still call them opal fruits and shop assistants look at me odd.

lemon polos were the best for hangovers.
refreshers seemd to help morning sickness.

the choc on pot with breadsticks.

DollySisterIsKickingUpLeaves · 13/11/2013 08:37

Tooty mintys. Like Tooty fruitys (they're not the same now either) but white and green. One colour was peppermint the other was spearmint.

hyenafunk · 13/11/2013 09:26

Cadburys marble. Why the hell they discontinued that I will never know, it was like tasting Heaven.
