YABU - the most comfy and cosy thing I've EVER owned :)

In fact, I'm wearing it right now :)

Mouthfulofquiz · 12/11/2013 15:54

I think they are embarassing when worn outside - when will people realise that ONESIES SHOULD ONLY BE WORN INDOORS.

Purplefrogshoe · 12/11/2013 15:55

Yabu I'm currently lying in bed wearing my pokemon one it's cheering me up but I could bu as im ill Hmm

hyenafunk · 12/11/2013 16:02

I remember when DS turned two and I still wanted to put him in babygrows but DH said he'd look ridiculous because he isn't a baby anymore. Now adults are wearing them, never mind toddlers...

I find the idea of them faffy. I think for starters they look stupid but aside from that I can't imagine having to yank it down every time I needed the loo and if I've been on the wine I'd have no chance Grin. Also I get very hot easily and the fleece would just make me all sweaty and uncomfortable. Dunno, just never fancied one.

ElenorRigby · 12/11/2013 16:21

For snugly warmness you need one of THESE!

TheArticFunky · 12/11/2013 17:58

I wouldn't want one but I ding he ran opinion on others wearing them at home.

I do think it looks very strange to see adults wearing them in public . I couldn't have a serious conversation with someone wearing a baby gro.

goodtimesinbontemps · 12/11/2013 18:06

Honestly I think they look silly, and in years to come people will cringe looking back at pics of themselves wearing a giant babygro. Its trying way too hard to be hip and cool but just looks sad instead. Thats my opinion anyway!

Heartbrokenmum73 · 12/11/2013 18:10

I'm planning on getting me and the dc one each for Christmas Eve/morning. I'm not going out of the house in it and I have a feeling I'll love sleeping in it (getting cotton ones, not fleecy) because I hate pyjamas (legs ride up, tops ride up) and nightshirts (get twisted around my waist), whereas onesies are elasticated at the ankle so no ridee-uppee!

I won't be wearing it as a fashion item or think I look in any way cool. I'm pretty certain I'll look bloody ridiculous in it - but at least I'm not being a sneery, snobby, judgypants about them!

ForalltheSaints · 12/11/2013 19:01

You are not being unreasonable. Call them romper suits which is their proper name in my opinion.

Answeringwhyquestionssince2002 · 12/11/2013 19:30

Yanbu. I reckon in 10 years' time when one of those nostalgia programmes is made about 2013 there will be loads of B list celebs grimacing in front of the camera and declaring 'OMG do you remember onesies, how ridiculous did they look, why did we ever wear them etc etc'

Caitlin17 · 12/11/2013 19:50

They are hideous. The shell suit de nos jours.

Caitlin17 · 12/11/2013 19:57

And the name is horrible too.

mitchsta · 13/11/2013 16:55

YANBU. I am saying this as someone who LOVES wearing PJs. I will never, EVER wear a onesie. Ever.

Aside from the fact you have to half undress yourself whenever you need a wee, they are just so unbelievably hideous.

OH MY FUCKING CHRIST!!! Twosies!!!

Broodymomma · 15/11/2013 19:59

I work at an airport you would not believe the amount of adults who travel on them!

Redpriestandmozart · 15/11/2013 20:05

When I was 14 back in 1984 I had one, it wasn't called a onsie and back then we'd no central heating and it was great. It was fleece but only on the outside just a backing on inside as proper fleece hadn't been invented for stuff like this, certainly not cheaply anyway.

So hardly new and still as hideous today as it was then, reminds me of adults babies YUCK!!!

cantsleep · 15/11/2013 20:13

YABU

I think they are lovely and cosy. All my dcs have onesies and wore them yesterday for school/pre school as it was world diabetes day and they were taking part in type onesie to raise money for jdrf. They looked great and I was very proud.

Dh hates them but ds1 has got him one for Xmas that is identical to his. I'm not sure dh will be very pleased but ds can't wait to go out matching with him!

QueenofLouisiana · 15/11/2013 21:16

Mine will be going on the residential trip with my class this month. Unlike a dressing gown I can't fall out of it in the middle of the night when dealing with an ill/ homesick/ upset child. I'll be warm and cosy while hissing at the loves to shut up because its 2am!

junkfoodaddict · 15/11/2013 21:26

I have bought one. Wore it today (as did lots of other children and adults) for Children in Need. I find it very comfortable.
If you don't like them - fine. But don't judge others for liking something you don't. I don't like tatoos but wouldn't dream of judging someone based upon their choice of bodyart.

thegreylady · 15/11/2013 21:29

I want one [I am old and fat] I really want a red tartan fleecy onesie to wear around the house!

WholeNutt · 15/11/2013 21:30

YABU mine is fab it means I can save on heating..it's just too toasty in my bear hooded onsie Grin

Inglori0us · 15/11/2013 21:41

I understand the cosy appeal but the uncosy prospect of stripping naked to the knees to have a wee completely ruins the concept for me.

Tommy · 15/11/2013 21:46

thank you inglorious - that's what I've always thought! so many people wearing them at campsites this summer and I just thought it would be so cold when you had a wee Grin
and - yes, just for babies IMO
(although I did buy one in Primark the other day for DS2's christmas present Hmm )

TodaysAGoodDay · 15/11/2013 21:58

greylady Matalan have tartan onesies in at the moment.
My DS and I both have onesies, but we call them our babygrows! Lovely, warm cuddly things, if I could get ones with feet attached I would Grin
