Just wondering as this happened yesterday.

A mum got on with a toddler about 20-24 months old ,who did the poo face and burst into tears (poor wee girl) however the smell was awful.

We got off the bus early (because of the smell) but the person with me thought IWBU to ask us to leave the bus and the mum should have been the one to leave.

My point was it was easier for us to get off as she had a two year old. His argument was if he had trodden in dog muck and was stinking out the bus he would expect a passengers to ask him to leave

He is being unreaseonable isn't he!

He was being ridiculously unreasonable! So a 2 yo did a poo. Big deal. The mother most certainly should nog have gotten off the bus. He sounds a right miserable git!

pigletmania · 08/11/2013 19:40

Sorry op not you man Is an idiot

ILetHimKeep20Quid · 08/11/2013 19:41

Poor mum. He is being unreasonable. An unpleasant situation that's for sure but what do you do?

MrsSpencerReid · 08/11/2013 19:43

I bet the mum wished she could get away from the smell too!!

Scrounger · 08/11/2013 19:44

Your friend should try a student night bus, someone in front vomiting on the bus at 1 / 2 am in the morning, the splatter noise and the smell are awful, hoping that the drivers doesn't accelerate hard so that it starts sliding back to where I am sitting AND knowing that it is at least 30 mins before I reached my stop. Taxis then seemed well worth the extra cash.

What was the mum supposed to do? Your friend was being unreasonable.

Floggingmolly · 08/11/2013 19:44

Get off and walk, you mean, instead of continuing home? Confused
Why would you do that? She could hardly change the child's nappy in the middle of the street.

coppertop · 08/11/2013 19:45

"His argument was if he had trodden in dog muck and was stinking out the bus he would expect a passengers to ask him to leave"

No, I wouldn't expect a person with dog muck on their shoe to get off the bus.

Also a big difference between a grown man and a 2yr-old child.

HIBU and precious

RoseRedder · 08/11/2013 19:45

we were only two stops away so it was no hassle to for us to get off

But, it was very very wiffy Grin

The individual I was with my 20 year old son, I'm trying to hammer some homes truth into him about babies (coz he wants one, one day)

Grin@ did the poo face. I wondered why my toddler had gone quiet at lunch today and realised he had the poo face on. Thank you to the table next to us who politely looked away and pretending they couldn't see/smell what was happening. We did whisk him away pronto, but wouldn't have got off a bus.

mumofweeboys · 08/11/2013 19:51

I feel sorry for the mum, there's nothing she could do but tough it out to her stop. If child burst into tears and the smell was so bad then she may have been constipated, poor baby.

Scrounger · 08/11/2013 19:54

OP, sorry your DS probably has been on a night bus recently then.

jacks365 · 08/11/2013 19:57

I'd have changed the nappy on the bus and have done so before now, quiet bus and it was a long enough journey. Ok not pleasant but tied up in a nappy bag at least the smell is trapped. 5 mins I wouldn't bother but over ten yes I'd change it what I wouldn't do is get off before I planned.

LondonNinja · 08/11/2013 20:00

Poor mum.

Silly man.

madmomma · 08/11/2013 20:03

FGS how ridiculous. A child has a crap and has to get off the bus cos it smells? Someone needs to grow the fuck up.

Scaredycat3000 · 08/11/2013 20:09

Thank fuck my 2 yr old doesn't poo out of the house, if you look at him when pooing he start screaming NOOOOOO, NOOOOOOOOOO until he is happy that you're not looking. And definatly don't talk to him, he'll reach a whole new level. If he was on a bus and the whole bus was looking at him your son would be complaining about more than the smell Grin I possibly would get off the bus, but mostly due to a sudden headache.

RoseRedder · 08/11/2013 20:27

I did remind him that he smelt like that in the past

Strumpetron · 08/11/2013 20:31

As much as I think the woman had every right to stay on the bus, babies poo so what? This comment:

FGS how ridiculous. A child has a crap and has to get off the bus cos it smells? Someone needs to grow the fuck up

Any need? Some people just can't deal with smells as much as others. Some wretch easily, and lets be honest some poos are worse than others. Least they got off the bus without making a big deal.

xCupidStuntx · 08/11/2013 20:35

I definitely wouldn't take my DD off the bus, Sorry!

bellablot · 08/11/2013 20:38

Erm you both obviously don't have children, what an over reaction, you sound like two drama queens

kiriwAnyFuckerwa · 08/11/2013 20:39

Don't get off but please don't change the nappy on the bus. That's disgusting

KerwhizzedMyself · 08/11/2013 20:41

Grin at you both obviously don't have children. Someone didnt read the threeeeeead!

KwaziiCat · 08/11/2013 20:45

Grin I think the OP has made it clear she has children. Or at least one son, namely a 20yo one, who made the comment in the first place...

YANBU and he is BU. My toddler can be very stinky (like, it makes me want to wretch type thing) so I would have gotten off personally, but his is an extreme (and a medical problem). If you felt getting off the bus was right for you, I don't see what other people have a problem with? Some poos are more disgusting than others.

pianodoodle · 08/11/2013 20:47

Lol tell your son even if the mum and toddler had got off he'd have still been stuck with the smell until he got to his stop.

A ferocious toddler nappy takes ages to dissipate Grin

YesterdayI · 08/11/2013 20:48

Lucky you weren't on a plane when the fasten seat belt sign was on Confused

RoseRedder · 08/11/2013 20:49
