Younger siblings are always more attractive

I am struggling to think of a counter-example from my personal experience.

Think there could be some truth in it. I'm second eldest of 4, take better care of self than eldest (who has 4 kids), brother fairly handsome but my youngest sister is a stunner, really really pretty. All have similar levels of intelligence - high of course ;) but I felt as a middle child I had to try hard to get noticed so have probably pushed myself harder than the others to succeed.

I have two sisters. I'm the middle one. They are both more intelligent, more glamorous and prettier than I am. You are therefore both right and wrong in equal measure.

In most families I can think of, the second born is most attractive, regardless of how many siblings there are in total.

I'm a first born and my brother is more attractive than me. My friends are all mostly first or third borns and all have a more attractive second-born sibling.

My big sis is better looking than me, no doubt about it. I'd say I'm funnier though, and have a sunnier outlook on life.

And my DH is a full 10 mins older than his brother and I'm convinced I bagged the better one!

Ds (an only) is pretty good looking, but looks more like DH, so has funny ears and is quite small. Maybe should have another one that could make us lots of money modelling That is, if they don't get my stupid nose.

Clearly this can't be true like saying the more babies practise you have the better the baby.

My dd is an only and when she was born she looked weird 4 weeks prem but she has blossomed into a beautiful big eyed blonde and she knows it at only 3 yr old

I'm the eldest of four, the younger three all being male.

Brother 1 is a good looking lad, but very much a male version of me and I look like our dad.

Brother 2 is gorgeous, but takes very strongly after our mum.

Brother 3 is by a different father and looks like him. And looks were not that particular family's strong point.

Obviously I am the most intelligent though.

DP is a younger sibling and, in my opinion, better looking than his sister. However, again, his DSis looks like their dad whereas he takes after his DM.

I'm the oldest twin - does that count? For all I know my egg could have been fertilised second and I just happened to be on top during the CS.

I got better results at school, but since then, she has probably had a more interesting career, and certainly one where she has been required to actually use her brain more. I earn more, but that's a reflection of our different sectors, not brains/effort. She's thinner than me, not having had 2 babies or been such a pig, but facially I honestly don't know who is better-looking.

This doesn't hold any water at all but it's given me a giggle at how many people have said "I'm the better looking/thinner/funniest/smartest."

My mum is the youngest of three girls and by far the better looking. DH is an only but his mum although very pretty was outshone by a stunner of a baby sitter. My nearly 8 year younger Dbro is tall, sporty, slim, attractive, popular etc (grrrr). I was a shy and dumpy teen. Improved greatly with age. I've got the brains though. Thinking about it in most cases of the people I know second born is more attractive.

However my DD1 is more pretty and delicate version of DH (who is chunky and masculine, not pretty at all). That ties in with a PP saying the first born looks like dad. DD2 is much less pretty but has a totally lovable personality that draws people to her. And gets away with murder all the time.

I've met Ed Miliband in real life and spent some time chatting to him while he complimented my dog.

He's much lovelier in person, and very handsome. And he smelled really nice. Not that I sniffed him on purpose or anything, I could just smell him and it was nice.

The other one looks like one of those monkey's they used to let you hold at the seaside while they took your picture and charged you for it.

I've thought this....my sister who is younger is stunning whereas I'm a bit of a plain Jane with a big nose. She is perfectly symmetrical. I often think about how unfair it is.
And then I realise that I am much much more intelligent, it must even out.

I have an older brother - he is funnier and has better social skills, he's lovely to be around. Knowledgable and fun. He's also good looking. I think I'm good looking too bit hard to judge which one of is is better looking. I'm probably more academic but then I put more effort in, he could probably have done better than me if he'd tried!

I guess the older siblings will have more wrinkles? My younger siblings are all more outgoing than me and more intelligent. But I'd rather look like, and be, me!

My DH's younger siblings are unattractive, overweight and don't have nice personalities. He is far better.

Agree beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

And thinking about my friends, I know a few sibling sets where the eldest is by far more attractive and more hardworking than the others. Not in every case though. Although I find younger children are nearly always more outgoing and often taller.

Weird thread. Just look at the Baldwin brothers to effectively dismiss this theory...
