To wonder what has happened to the postman

I have had 1 piece of post since Friday, I normally get at least a piece of junk mail/leaflet...I'm starting to ponder whether he is on strike/been sacked and or kidnapped :o

I have not seen him wondering round the area as I often used to!

Any ideas? :)

Mine's getting later and later. He'll be delivering at midnight by January the way he's going.

Anyone remember where we had post before breakfast? Now I'm lucky if we've got it after supper.

we seem to get post every other day and then several pieces. A skeptic would suggest they do this to shorten the rounds each day (every other house?)

we did get post in the end..... after I got back from the school run. Usually it is here by 11 am. Was a credit card bill.

Farrow- I'm told that outside of special delivery they do not post before 8 anymore. They don't have to deal with grumpy people moaning about noisy posties waking them up and they don't have to pay unsociable hours to the postman. I miss early post though, when I was young the postman and milkman were out together, you had your post on your mat and your milk on the step when you got up in the morning

You can opt out of the junk mail that they deliver. It's not hard to do and it's less in the recycling box every month.

I tried, you have to email them, then they reply saying, 'ere, print out this form and send it back, I have no printer and besides, DD loves the post arriving, she gets post..the junk Ah she's 2, you should see her when the Thomson Local book comes

She runs round with it on her head as she does with her other books shouting "A book a book a booook!!"

I did it. It works if the female postie is working, but not the male one.

I drive past post boxes and shove it back in on my way to work.

Someone once pushed an Ikea catalogue through once, I was in a bad mood didn't want it, so opened the door, looked and saw the guy getting some more out of a trolley, he disappeared to another floor to drop more, so I took my oppurtunity and overarm flung it down the stairs, to my credit, it landed next to the trolley.

I looked out again 5 mins later and it and the trolley had gone, I had a small giggle to myself imaging the guy coming back to the trolley and finding the catalogue mysteriously lying there.

I am a Bad Person, don't know why I didn't just give it to DD like I did with the Thomson book, must have been one hell of a mood I was in. :o

My husband is a postman.

Because of this stupid change over the posties are starting alot later. 2 postmen go out in 1 van doing 2 rounds (half each) and they have a certain time to finish by. Hope that helps abit on your missing posties!

Can I just say that the delivery sorting offices very rarly get christmas temps the temps go to the mail centres you get new starters yes but these wont be temps plus the christmas temps dont start till the nov you get year round temps that know the job

You can check for disprutions in post on the royal mail website and looking on the service update also there are lots of post codes that are getting upgraded ie routes getting changed about

I still have no mail. I'm waiting on something important. Also the post box round the corner hasn't been emptied as it has been full for a free days.

The only disruption could be a train got cancelled and mail transfered to air. but I doubt it would effect the letter I'm waiting for as it's from the same county.

Royal mail have twitter maybe mention about post box there

just checked the royal mail site on phone you need to be on desktop site then click on help and support top right takes you to service updates

Have they defentliy sent it (the cheques in the post ) I would twitter if you have you just need to ask ref disruptions with the first part of your postcode

Common causes of delays are missortation due to human error ie the post code is simlar to ie CV CW and the handwriting is not clear alotis done by manchines but packwts etc are done by hand

Its become a broken packet which means someone would get pulled off sorting to deal with them for onward posting ( the ones in the
plastic bags)

My dp was devirted to help with unloading and forward travel of the post from that plane a 8 hour shift became a 10 1/2 shift I dont work for royalmail but have done as a temp for 18 months

I too am waiting for mail - getting nothing is worse than getting junk mail - at least you know he's been and it's not coming today. When I get nothing, I wonder if he's doing a really late round and still listen out all day for him.... hmmmm. I should have better things to worry about, but it is irritating me today!
