I recently got told on a thread that my nickname suggests I wouldn't offer sympathy to fellow MNers. How do you think people perceive your name as reflecting your posting style, and do you think I should change mine?

ChaircatMiaow · 20/10/2013 14:30

That I enjoy the company of felines and suspect they will take over the world??

ArgyMargy · 20/10/2013 14:30

And that's how I will always think of you, Talc. Even though it is Not True (so you say...). Meanwhile I'll wait for someone to claim that turnips are orange. Expat? ScottishMummy? Anyone?

anon2013 · 20/10/2013 14:31

That I have no imagination? Wink

Justforlaughs · 20/10/2013 14:32

That I try not to take life in general, and in particular on-line forums, too seriously. For the most part anyway Wink. I come on here mainly for a bit of light entertainment, but hopefully that doesn't mean that I can't be sympathetic if needed - even if my name doesn't suggest that bit!

DoctorTwo · 20/10/2013 14:33

That I have an over optimistic view of my talent and popularity and a unique take on the English language. I liquid eyebrowsed a pizza, for instance, in honour of my only fan. Who happens to be dead. Sad but [true]

JessePinkmansWitch · 20/10/2013 14:35

That I like Breaking Bad (and love Jesse Pinkman) and it's Halloween.

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 20/10/2013 14:35

I have a question on MN usernames: when you change your name, is it like starting all over again? So no one recognises you from previous discussions? What if you didn't want to start again and wanted to maintain whatever little identity you've developed but still wanted to change your name? Also, I'm assuming some of you who have been here a long time know each other from previous discussions, so would a name change make you anonymous all over again?

Moln · 20/10/2013 14:35

Not a lot. Well I think it doesn't anyway!

YoureBeingADick · 20/10/2013 14:38

Thediet- some namechanges give away who you were before (intentionally) so folk who knew you will recognise you. Otherwise you have to tell people who you were so they dont accuse you of being one of those blow-ins from nethuns Grin

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 20/10/2013 14:39

That I am a fan of the "little Princess" books, and that I wear a lot of gold. Neither is true. My son however is a big Little Princess fan.

floatyflo · 20/10/2013 14:43

That my name is Flo and I am a bit ditzy?

Or a ghost. All floaty and eerie.

Of course I am not any of these!

'Cept maybe the ghost part..woooooo!

TalcAndTurnips · 20/10/2013 14:43

Argy - turnips are orange?

What kind of mad delusion is that?

Passmethecrisps · 20/10/2013 14:45

Swede are white and turnips are orange.

That is the law. True fact

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 20/10/2013 14:46

No idea! Smile

GlaikitFizzog · 20/10/2013 14:46

Turnips are orange! Neeps, you may call the swedes!

MurderOfBanshees · 20/10/2013 14:46

TheDiet I always try to put my previous names in my profile or in the hover bit over my NN so people can link it back to me. Though I do tend to spend a while posting "btw I used to be Kaloki/Empusa/MurderOfGoths" just to make sure people know.

Passmethecrisps · 20/10/2013 14:47

Turneeps.

And swedes are wee and turnips are big

Matzo · 20/10/2013 14:49

Because I like the crackers & balls

OoozingCervix · 20/10/2013 14:52

I am oozing. and obsessed with cervixes (cervi?)

YouTheCat · 20/10/2013 14:54

I'd say I like cats and Terry Pratchett. It's pretty accurate.

MrsTerryPratchett · 20/10/2013 14:54

That I am married to Terry Pratchett. I often wonder if Lyn, his actual wife, is on here and she's all MN stabby because I'm masquerading as her. Grin I think they would be a MN family.

VerySmallSqueak · 20/10/2013 14:57

I think my name suggests that I am shy, nervous and unlikely to voice my opinion.

I think you sound very boisterous and extrovert ArgyMargy and you obviously have hair like Marge Simpson.

PrincessTeacake · 20/10/2013 14:58

That I have a princess complex (true) I like tea (true) and I like cake (also true). I'm a very simple person.

SugarHut · 20/10/2013 14:58

Mine is after I heard two teenage girls sitting in a bus stop gasp as I walked past "Oh my god look at her hair, oh my god I need it, I bet she goes to SugarHut"

I was so highly amused by the sad, sad state of affairs that the pinnacle of their dream world was some shitty club in Essex that the name stuck with me :)

If you don't know that story..what does the name say about me? Chav I suspect Grin
