He started chopping onions at 8.30am ffs. I don't WANT to smell onions and shit that early.

AIBU?

He said he was making stock but he's added all kinds of spices and it smells like a curry or something and personally I don't LIKE that this early. I also have a few people calling round this morning for various things and the house smells now!

I had worked hard to make it smell nice...and now it fucking REEKS of curry! Morning smells should be coffee and bread....gentle things...not cumin and frigging whatever seeds he's currently crushing!

wish my husband would make stock I wish I COULD MAKE stock Grin yabu leave him alone to cook what is he making anyway

Beastofburden · 12/10/2013 14:13

Buy him a pressure cooker and then the stock won't smell of anything.

Goes back to obsessing fantasising sniggering about 'elaborate toasts'..

ICameOnTheJitney · 12/10/2013 17:23

Bun I do go out but it annoys me and it's not my choice to...so I'd never suggest a meal out as a treat or something. If a friend wants to eat out for their birthday then I go obviously.

that's a good point Harry ....I have been a bit Confused about those comments! DH has always cooked! My Dad cooked...my brother cooks...it's not something I should be grateful about!

You don't need to be grateful he books but there's no need to be rude about it either!

*cooks

I wouldn't want cooking smells at 8.30 unless it was fresh croissants, bacon, French toast and the like.

I have specified times of day for other things too. Certain TV shows are only for evening, can't watch a film in the morning or early afternoon, can't bake in the evening, can't shower after dinner. It's just wrong.

saulaboutme · 12/10/2013 22:16

Yanbu to a point, but he's cooking and that's a bonus. After 11 yes I agree.
