I think that Paul McCartney is a nice bloke and I really like him.

AIBU?

(I honestly think this. I wish he wouldn't dye his hair that awful Autumn Russet shade and I wish he'd stop doing Hey Jude all over the gaff, but he's a nice man)

Oh my. And i thought we were friends Marmalade. Sad

ScarerAndFuck · 03/10/2013 17:44

That's good about Heather not saying anything bad about him.

I can more than make up for her restraint, none of it based on having met him, I've just never gotten past the thumbs and hair.

If there's a LDM update you might have to do a mass PM because people need to know. You can have my phone number, email, Facebook and anything else you like if necessary. I'll even pretend admit to liking Waccy Macca if that's what it takes Grin

friday

Lennon did a lot more than that, unfortunatelt. He battered his first wife, cheated on her repatedly and could barely be bothered with his first son. Really not a nice man.

Ringo also knocked about and cheated on his first wife.

I may well be wrong about George Harrison and if so I apologise for unfairly maligning him. Sorry George.

Apparently as well as speaking ill of the dead, I have lost the ability to type properly. Sorry about that.

brainwashed · 03/10/2013 17:50

He always seems to have tuning issues when doing short sets eg. at the olympics but in a concert by himself he is amazing. Seen him 3 times last being Hampden park in 2010 :-)
I do wish he would stop dying his hair though!

Hassled · 03/10/2013 17:51

I think he's a nice bloke too and I quite like him.

All that I ask is that he stops singing Hey Jude.

blueemerald · 03/10/2013 18:08

An ex of mine's father worked on one of PM's albums in the late 80s: said he was a nice enough guy but has no 'shit filter' when it comes to making music.

HepsibubbleCauldronToad · 03/10/2013 18:11

No cheese and garlic dough balls for you now.

MarmaladeTwatkins · 03/10/2013 18:34

So glad that others can see what a good egg old Thumbsaloft is. That means you are nice people too.

The rest of you are all nasty little Yokos. Nurrrr.

Paul is dead. You can tell, if you look really closely...

Pinkpinot · 03/10/2013 18:52

I like the Beatles
I like Paul McCartney, the man and the music, yes I have met him
Seen a lot of his concerts over the years and he can still put on a show. Last one was 3 hours. He still has a massive fan base.
He's getting on a bit, but if he still wants to play and people still want to see him, then why not?
He could just retire to the Caribbean and sit on a beach all day, but obviously doesn't want to.
Good luck to him

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 03/10/2013 19:02

I love the Paul is dead conspiracy theory.

They covered it up by putting clues in their music. Grin

FreudiansSlipper · 03/10/2013 19:03

I think he is given a hard time on here

Yes he is a little embarrassing at times but I think he is a nice guy than mick tight arse never does charity fucks every woman he can jagger just not as cool

And he has written some of the most amazing songs and some crap too, but he along with Lennon changed pop music and together they wrote their best songs

MarmaladeTwatkins · 03/10/2013 19:07

Wings- the band the Beatles could have been.

I'm on the fence. His hair is wrong. I struggle to see past that. Sir Paul, it's time to grow old gracefully, have a word with yourself. (I love Eleanor Rigby though, so if you could churn that one out a bit more often I'll try to see past the hair).

Sure I can't I tempt you with this stoater, Marmalade? Grin

maillotjaune · 03/10/2013 19:34

I like the Beatles, still listen to them a bit especially Revolver and Rubber Soul but not Macca.

If you want an ageing rocker who's still got it then Bruce Springsteen's your man.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 03/10/2013 19:37

This is just all kinds of wrong.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 03/10/2013 19:39

LOLZ

Hmmmmm, I'm not sure. I went off him when he married Mills.

George was always my favourite.
