To think pampers nappies are really not the best out there (or rubbish?)

My LO has been in pampers since birth but always leaks poos out onto vest and baby grow. I thought the problem was her explosive poos. But one day DH bought waitrose nappies and she didn't leak at all!

Pampers are currently half price in tesco and I'm wondering whether I should stock up on them or instead go for a cheaper alternative like waitrose or aldi (I haven't tried aldi nappies but I'm tempted). What do you think?

I've always found Pampers to be great with my 2. Have tried other nappies and they just haven't been as good.

They both get rashes from Asda and Huggies wipes.

DD has been in Pampers from day one. Tried Boots' own brand and Sainsburys' own and both leaked appallingly. Back to Pampers for us. Guess it depends on body shape?

We tried Pampers with DD1 and she always leaked. We used Huggies with DD1 and they were great.

We never tried Pampers with DD2 and went straight to either Tesco's or Morrisons as Huggies were going to get discontinued so we decided to skip them. We use Morrisons now as Tesco ones the velcro kept sticking the the nappy when it was in the package and it used to rip a few.

We did end up buying a pack of Pampers for DD1 to use during the night and they seem better then Morrisons ones for the night time. So we wil be buying them again for night time for DD1.

Thanks everyone! My LO is very skinny and tall, any recommendations?

It is pointless comparing nappies.
It depends on the size and shape of your baby.

I'm glad it's not just me that noticed the appalling smell of Pampers Active Fit - I thought that perhaps my child had funny smelling wee!

Def worth shopping around and not assuming that expensive = best.

I also found that as DS has become older and his poos are less explosive and his nappies aren't as wet as night, I can put him in just about any brand of nappy and they do the job just fine.

With DD we noticed that Pampers were starting to leak almost every night. So we tried Aldi ones and were thrilled with them. We only swapped to Tescos pull ups as DD used to rip her tabs open in the night on the Aldi ones. The Tesco pull ups were good back then- they were elasticated, but they have now changed the design to be more like the Huggies / Pampers ones which is a shame.

With DS we tried Pampers - which triggered his eczema and horrific nappy rash. We swapped to Huggies - just as bad. We tried Aldi which were much better on his bum. I was then involved in a nappy trial and tested Tesco Value nappies, and his bottom cleared right up!
They are fantastic - no leaks (though now we only use at night as DS is potty trained in the day) and cost 7p a nappy! Just £1.41 for a pack of 20. Well worth a try.

Aldi Mamia nappies are brilliant (I know I'm the 80th person to say this) Used for DD since birth, they are fantastic!

My youngest is 11 now, so it was a long time ago.

I had three daughters. I used all brands of nappies, but tended to prefer supermarket home brands (nornally Tesco, as that was most convenient). They just seemed to leak much less. There wasn't the option of Aldi/Lidl back then, or I am sure I would have used them too.

With my two youngest daughters it was very hard to say as they grew which nappies were best, as both were bum-shufflers rather than crawlers as they got mobile. Bum-shufflers, as anyone who has had one (or two) will probably tell you, can wear through clothes, undies and nappies in a flash, especially if they are outside. That in itself caused leaks, and no nappy on this earth could have coped with it.
