Yes, I have big clown feet, I am well aware of that fact, so there's no need for you to comment on it even further.

It always seems to be in work that people ask how big my feet are. Then the usual comments/insults come in
"HOW big? Wow where do you park them at night?"
"Don't wear red shoes you'll be mistaken for a clown"
"They're huge. I'd hate to have feet as big as yours."

Just shut up! That's great you have lovely small size 3/4/5 feet! Do I comment on how big you ears/nose/eyes/whatever are? No! So leave my feet alone!

Ok rant over Cake Brew ahh that's better Smile

Acra, I wondered if women's feet had actually got bigger.

We need research Smile

DropYourSword · 29/09/2013 13:21

There might be!!

I mean, you can get a belly button defluffing brush so it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

Viviennemary · 29/09/2013 13:26

Either give them a disdainful look and say have you never been taught it's rude to make personal remarks. Or pick out something about them and make a comment such as how would you like it if I commented on your hooked nose.

acrabadabra · 29/09/2013 13:27

You have to be quick at sale time. People regularly buy 3/4/5+ pairs in one go so all the good ones go very quickly in the bigger (and to be fair, smaller) sizes.

OP I have size 9 feet. We can bask in the knowledge our feet are lovely and normal looking everyone else's are stumpy and freakish

DropYourSword · 29/09/2013 13:30

I thought 7=40, which is 9 in America.

(in shoe size, not general math)

SeaSickSal · 29/09/2013 13:31

Do people actually do this? I mean notice people's feet and comment on them? I wouldn't even notice someone's feet, let alone pass comment on them.

BlueStones · 29/09/2013 13:36

Interesting, acra. I took a 6 most of my adult life; it's only in the last five years or so that I've needed 7 or 8. I did wonder if my feet were growing ... maybe sizes are changing?

Sinful1 · 29/09/2013 13:37

"yes they are big sent they, it's really going to hurt when I ram it up your arse then isn't it?"

StitchingMoss · 29/09/2013 13:37

I have size 8 feet but they are an EEE fitting which are impossible to buy Sad. Internet shopping for shoes is an almighty PITA.

JadziaSnax · 29/09/2013 13:38

I have size 8 feet and have never had any negative comments. I'm not hugely tall either, average height 5'6". My favourite shoes are a size 9, the 8s were too tight!

I didn't think that size 7, 8 or 9 feet was that unusual, it certainly isn't with my friends or family.

JadziaSnax · 29/09/2013 13:40

The problem I do experience is with women's socks, they're always too small. I wear men's socks now.

Jan49 · 29/09/2013 13:41

How rude of them.

I'm very tall and wear size 8 shoes. I used to feel I had big feet. My ex used to make comments about needing 2 showers, one for each foot. But now I have an adult son who towers over me and his feet are size 15. He thinks my feet are tiny. So I no longer feel too tall or feel that my feet are too big.Smile

AintNobodyGotTimeFurThat · 29/09/2013 15:18

Don't be feetist. I am a size 4.

It goes both ways you know.

Plus my feet are fat. I hate having fat feet.

I have small hands though, which I'm glad of.

I'm just generally pretty small.

Except my waistline and boobs.

But anyway yeah.

I don't blame you.

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 29/09/2013 16:17

StitchingMoss you want Evans [taps nose emoticon]. I'm exactly the same size and always always find something in there. And they're really cheap compared to Clarks etc. All sorts of styles, sandals, heels, ballet pumps, boots, work shoes, the lot Smile

StitchingMoss · 29/09/2013 17:19

You're right buzzy, always forget about Evans! Clarks are crap - their wide fitting is an E, that's not wide it's positively sylph like!

quoteunquote · 29/09/2013 17:53

42 EEEE, I have flippers,

which is handy as I swim a lot, and brilliant for surfing,

When I lived in the USA, my foot size wasn't considered large, you can get any shoe in any size there, A lot of the African American women have much larger feet.

When I lived in Denmark and Holland, it was easy to buy shoes, boots or clothing for tall women.

I'm not even considered tall anymore, In the next generation of women, far more are taller,

The shoe and clothing industry are missing a trick not catering for the taller pound.

BetsyBidwell · 29/09/2013 17:59

it is true about men and big feet

#smug

Lweji · 29/09/2013 18:01

"Did you mean to be so rude?"

Always useful.

Grin
BetsyBidwell · 29/09/2013 18:02
