Dh has been given a bonus at work for being a general superstar. it's a night away in a hotel for all of us and theme park tickets.

I specified that we would need two interconnecting rooms, one for us and one for the children, a bath as DD wil NOT have showers and a restaurant on site because I can't be doing with traipsing the DC out for breakfast/dinner.

They've just sent through the booking and it has none of these things, it's one room with a shower, no restaurant.

I am going to get DH to complain and get the booking changed. My sister said I should just suck it up as it's free, but if it's not suitable for our needs then what's the point?

AIBU?

Give some more warning next time, a lot of people don't like reverse AIBUs.

She wants a good talking to - I presume her DH is too much of a coward to tell her where to stick her opinion?

kilmuir · 21/09/2013 19:38

Or your brother in law does.

ouryve · 21/09/2013 19:41

I know few children who can't manage a night without a bath. Even mine - and they both have a habit of wearing everything they eat. Children's hair does not need washing every single night. It doesn't get oily like adult hair. If you're that concerned, wash it in the morning, before you set off from your home.

YADBU

WeAreEternal · 21/09/2013 19:46

My response would have been, "well if you don't want it DSIS I am more than happy to go in your place you ungrateful witch "

VisualiseAHorse · 21/09/2013 19:47

Have never actually commented on a reverse AIBU before....

I would show you sister this thread, and show her what an entitled twat she is being.

WayHarshTai · 21/09/2013 19:47

I did say pretty much that.

She got a bit huffy about there being no point going if it wasn't going to be nice enough.

OP posts:
WayHarshTai · 21/09/2013 19:48

Grin I might do that.

I do tell her that her every utterance is fodder for my best AIBUs.

Vivacia · 21/09/2013 19:48

What did you want to get out of this thread?

WayHarshTai · 21/09/2013 19:49

World peace and free Prosecco.

What does anyone wnat to get out of any thread? A welcome distraction from endless repeats of Big Bang Theory and bickering children.

id love to see her trip advisor post! Grin

reelingintheyears · 21/09/2013 19:52

I think the OP wants her sisters night away and is jealous acksherly.

And I bet her hair looks like she's been dragged through a bush backwards.

Definitely jealous i'd say Vivacia.

I love you.

I love your sister too, her unreasonableness knows no bounds. She should have a blog or something.

WayHarshTai · 21/09/2013 19:54

Dh and I went to a country house hotel a few years ago and raved about it so much that DSis booked a weekend there (this was pre kids).

On her return she wrote a letter of complaint becuase the (17th C) hotel was a bit shabby, the antique furniture in their room was tatty, the sausage at breakfast wasn't premium and the loo roll wasnt' up to scratch (fnar).

I shit ye not. It wasn't tatty or shabby, by the way, it was just OLD and ANTIQUE. It was a 5* hotel and was gorgeous. And the bangers and bog roll were fine.

I'll have it, need a break and haven't done a thrill ride for yonks - and I'll be really grateful for a freebie. Your DH can come along, if he wants, but I do snore.

themaltesefalcon · 21/09/2013 19:54

Well said, OP.

reelingintheyears · 21/09/2013 19:54

I HAVE PROSECCO TONIGHT!
World peace will have to wait,

Only one glass down though Grin

TediousFool · 21/09/2013 19:55

World peace can be found at the bottom of the bottle.

themaltesefalcon · 21/09/2013 19:55

That was to World peace and free Prosecco.

WayHarshTai · 21/09/2013 19:57

I am on my second bottle. To be fair, the first was half a bottle.

It's all good in da hood.

Wow, your poor husband!

Ffs, you can't expect him to ask his employers to change it to what you want, it's completely unfair and puts him in a very awkward position.

Either go and make the most of what you have been given or don't go.

Blueandwhitelover · 21/09/2013 19:57

I love it,

Blueandwhitelover · 21/09/2013 19:57

I love it,

KoalaFace · 21/09/2013 19:59

I'm so disappointed! I actually squeaked at reading "I'm not my sister fgs!" I loved that!

Your sister sounds so horrific that she's actually pure, solid gold!

Viviennemary · 21/09/2013 20:00

Why not ask for this treat to go to somebody else who might appreciate it.
