We fly tomorrow morning, have a trunki as a present, and a two year old. I don't know whether to take it or not as it seems like if they can't propel themselves along and we are taking the pushchair it might just get in the way.

total first world problem I know, and also first post I have started on this forum.

Should I take it on the off chance they will play with it or am I being stupid for taking something we might not use in a confined place.

Or am I being unreasonable for even asking this question when there are so many more important things in the world!

Too late for you OP but on the way back try and get a handful of pound shop style toys, wrap them in tissue paper, then hand over a present each hour on the flight. Absolute godsend. Ten crappy little things are apparently far more fun than a play laptop costing twice as much!

Our trunki fits in our pushchair basket. I use it as my carry-on, have passports tickets and money in a pouch round my neck, DD1 (3) in pushchair and DD2 (5m) in sling. I always check the buggy in for same reasons as MrsTerry (I used to bring it when DD1 still needed place to sleep). DD1 rides the trunki once in the airport. It's brilliant. Totally managable to take both kids on my own inc. changing planes in big airports like Schipol.

I don't let DD pack it with her stuff though! Trunki contains nappies, wipes, snacks (no drinks - pain at security, buy from airport kiosk) spare clothes for both, large painting overall worn by DD1 on flight (and sat on airplane blanket) as she gets airsick. 1 iPad loaded with children's games and books on top. Then at security all you have to do is take out the ipad, and you only have to remember one thing when you leave the plane. I supplement iPad for longer flights with eg peppa pig activity magazines that can be binned on arrival or left on plane. You can lock the trunki - not like a proper lock, but DD1 can't open it yet :D
