Pneumonia and professional photographer-AIBU?

My son will be given his helmet for plagiocephaly on the 19th. I know this is for his own good.

I paid through the nose to have a professional photo shoot done this Friday so I can have some nice pictures before he has to wear this 23 hours a day.

The professional photographer first cancels and then rescheduleds. She tells me she is on anti biotics for 'walking pneuomenia' . My deposit was $800. The new shooy is set for Friday. AIBU to tjonk ot is too soon and demand a refund?

Is pneumonia catching then? I don't think it is. Is that what you're worred about?

That's what I thought - you tend to develop rather than catch pneumonia. There are germs which can cause a cold but normally for first 2-4 days. As long as she feels up to working, the contagion wouldn't be an issue for me. Also she didn't choose to get ill so not sure why the outrage - paid through the nose, demanding etc. She's rescheduled before your deadline. I'd be pleased!

From a quick google, it's a mild pneumonia, right? Hummmm, I'd be tempted to risk it and go for the photos I think (from what I read it is pretty contagious, but symptomatically, just a bad cold most of the time. And surely if she's on AB now, she should be totally fine in over a week's time?

Although I'd also say - apart from the hassle of getting it on and off, & head-sweats, there's no real reason you couldn't just whip the helmet off for a photo session after 19th - I know they say not to, but really, one hour or so can't make too much difference)

(My dd had a plagio helmet and she looked FAB in it - in fact, some of my favourite baby photos of her are when she's wearing it!)

I'm getting the photos before the helmet.

Worried about it. My GP says nix it. My doctor brother says get it done later.

Ds has had "walking pneumonia" many times and to my knowledge has never passed it on to anybody.

If it is contagious, don't do it.

Also I'd think she will be below par in terms of getting a good result.

I'd get the money back.

I think walking pneumonia is passed by droplets of saliva iirc, could be wrong though.

Aha, 'a non-medical term to describe mild pneumonia'. I've been practising 8 years and have never once heard anyone use that term. Anyway OP I think if she feels well enough to be at work then you're probably fine!

When Ds had it I was told he had Mycoplasma Pneumonia but then they explained that is is commonly known as walking pneumonia.

Its not a non medical term, a and e used it when treating my neighbour.
