Hmmmm, poor guy gets a flaming yet on numerous posts on MN it is OK for the wife/partenr to snoop on thier OH phone, emails, FB etc? Double standards or what! Confused

Have you told her yours?

Your post has really rattled some people OP, i suspect quite a few would not like their other halves to read what they post on here.

Am awaiting a rash of "post deleted at users request" now..... Grin

Crikey! Some aggressive people on here today! It's a public forum, not like he hacked into her laptop!!

I know my DWs username & she knows mine, it was her that got me onto these forums in the first place.

The only "creepy" thing is how many people think it's some sort of secret society!

It's not really on, OP. Everyone should be allowed a little internet playground of their own, free to speak their minds without worrying about the delicate sensibilities of prying spouses.

Thank God my husband and I are not the least bit interested in what the other says.

You should read the MN Relationships board! Would make a private eye feel inadequate...

DH knows mine, I don't mind. He's got better things to do than read all my posts on MN. Mind you so do I, but I have less willpower! Grin

Why do people think this creepy, surely it's no different than anyone posting that they have worked out they know someone in RL. Those posts don't tend to get a stalker accusation.

I would tell her and give her option of name changing.

Less creepy and more cheeky I'd say. You naughty boy, now go make your beloved a cup of tea

I know you're not my DH as that would involve tearing himself away from PC gaming.

Nor would he involve himself in what he lovingly calls 'Your council of bitchiness'

But Hi to you anyway you brave daft man!

I know your not mine. He has never used fortuitous in any context, ever.

WTF? Can't get my head round this one, so you read a post that is word for word what someone else has said in real life & connect the two. It's really not Poirot & it's really not in the same league as checking someone's internet history.

Some guilty consciences out there methinks!!

I regularly leave a tab with MN open when I'm not using the computer. We only have the one so all DH needs to do is scroll down and see my nickname on the message box.

Or open MN from the favourites as it is always logged in.

I do vent sometimes about him. I wouldn't get too worked up if he found my posts though. I can see why others might.

"Less creepy and more cheeky I'd say. You naughty boy, now go make your beloved a cup of tea"

I agree.

The OP hsan't said he came here to spy on her. He's already an occasional MNetter and happened to come across her.

I expect he wanted to have a bit of fun with his OP - in the spirit of a true mumsnetter, something interested happened so his first instinct was to tell MN about it Grin

Ha ha, did she feel particularly violated OP?

Report
Greavesey · 06/09/2013 10:51

not particularly, she took it in the spirit in which it was intended, a la aufaniae - although I have the distinct impression that "cunting bastard" is going to be my pet name for a while.

I can't believe how defensive so many people are, its a public forum so you should accept that there is a possibility that someone you know (including your OH) make see whatever you write.

There's a lot of people on MN who have their knickers in a knot so tight that is cuts through their forehead !!

Really? So both the OP and his wife have non-jobs that allow them to have unlimited time to piss about browsing in AIBU on a workday morning?

No wonder they are both so totally cheeky and relaxed and right-on, like many of the recent posters.

Respeck.
