Blaargle, I feel all hot and dizzy now why can't I leave well alone!

Oh I have the opposite of trypophobia - I love these images.
Could look at them all night.
Your nightmares? I've had em, but they're dreams. Popping out marbles pressed into depressions all around a beach ball is a recurring favourite Sorry.

Didactylos · 04/09/2013 02:36

The images do give an odd visceral reaction
they remind me of certain gum infections or fly strike
not going to link any images though
really think theres something in it as a instinctive rather than cultural avoidance

BuntyCollocks · 04/09/2013 06:15

Oh, I am must be a freak. I love the pictures. want to touch ALL THE HOLES

scaryg · 04/09/2013 08:21

Some of then arnt to bad it's the ones where the holes have some thing in them like the googly eyes or lotus pod or maggots and the like - boak.

mignonette · 04/09/2013 08:23

Think we have a group hysteria going on here Grin

Trills · 04/09/2013 08:31

I have just googled lotus seed pods and cherry clafoutis just to look at them.

I don't love them or hate them.

I think some of you are overreacting because you've been told that t's disgusting and scary and yucky and will make you shiver and vomit and feel bad al day.

Here is a picture that will calm you down and rid your mind of the nasty holes. It's a carefully selected combination of colour, situation, and depth of field, to produce a suffusion of well-being.

Thepowerof3 · 04/09/2013 09:31

I told my mum that there was a name for her phobia but not to google due to how upset the pics would genuinely make her and she still spent all evening torturing herself as to what they could actually be like

My eyes :(

Thepowerof3 · 04/09/2013 12:07

I've recovered now but will never look again

I clicked on the first link last night and didnt think I had a problem with it. I laughed at people's stupid phobias. But I can't get that holey plant thing out of my head since last night now. It's horrible. It reminds me of those infected tonsils they show on Embarrassing Bodies...the ones with bits of food stuck in the holes. Sick.

Thepowerof3 · 04/09/2013 12:15

I hated those tonsils, I kept imaging my feet were all holey last night and felt quite sick, that'll teach me

MimsyBorogroves · 04/09/2013 12:32

Bleaurgh.

Especially upright penne.

Thepowerof3 · 04/09/2013 13:05

I would have screamed the house down had that happened to my penne

How do you feel about the word "cluster"? Grin

SHarri13 · 04/09/2013 13:32

Oh Jesus Christ, why did I do that. My skin is crawling. I can't bear clusters of natural things.

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

SHarri13 · 04/09/2013 13:48

I showed my older two DCs lotus pods without any suggestion of dislike just 'look at these, they're lotus pods'. My 3 year old liked them and was very interested as with anything botanical. My 5 year old looked slightly disgusted and said he didn't like them.

celticclan · 04/09/2013 13:57

It was something that I never even noticed until a previous thread on Mumsnet. Now I always notice holes and patterns but I don't get it. It's just a pattern. It's like having a phobia of stripes or polka dots. Why is it scary for so many?

ToysRLuv · 04/09/2013 14:05

My nearly 4 year old loved the lotus pods and wanted to see more..

Thepowerof3 · 04/09/2013 14:09

I hate the words Cluster, Clumps and Frilly. Shriek Shriek Shriek

OP posts:
iridium · 04/09/2013 14:15

Is it just clusters of holes that people don't like? I catch my bus every day from next to the Bullring in Birmingham - is that different because it's bobbles?

Fakebook · 04/09/2013 14:17

Isn't there a cereal called honey clusters or something? Eeew!

Thepowerof3 · 04/09/2013 14:17

I'm going to google the bull ring and get back to you!

OP posts:
Thepowerof3 · 04/09/2013 14:18

Pitted is another one I hate. Honey clusters bleeurgh

mignonette · 04/09/2013 14:38

What about the small hole side of your cheese graters? When the cheese starts to push through ever so slow-ly.....

usualsuspect · 04/09/2013 14:41

Why did I even click this thread.
