I am actually quite heart broken about the dross they are stuck with.

American tween shows Confused Terrible. Why do they all sing?

Cartoons today Hmm

Lad at work, 23 - never heard of Thundercats, or He-man.... Jesus wept.*

*I bet he actually did too, fairly certain Jesus loves He-man.

AIBU to feel this way? WIBU to buy all those great shows on DVD and make DD watch them and only them

Do you think it would consitute a criminal offence to hunt down whoever made Spongebob, lock them in a cellar, and throw away the key

I've got my 2 year old watching Fun House and Knightmare, she loves them (God blesd you Challenge tv!).

OP a 23 year old guy was in the right age-range for both Thundercats (theyve remade it recently and its awful) and He-man. He must have had a deprived tv childhoid Wink

I feel sad none of today's children will be able to watch Muffin the Mule or the original Bill and Ben or Noddy, all in black and white of course Smile

I thought Rugrats was awful something else, likewise Power Rangers and the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles! Loved the Raccoons and Teddy Ruxpin and the Japanese stuff am feeling properly ancient now

brightnearly · 24/08/2013 15:17

Japanese stuff like Ulysses 31 for example.

fuzzpig · 24/08/2013 15:26

Ulysses 31 had a really catchy theme tune (DH has a few episodes on DVD)

I'm getting him volumes 1&2 of Talespin for Xmas :o

Some children's TV shows in the 80s and 90s were great. Others were utter tripe. Has anyone ever seen metal mickey recently? I adored it as a child, saw it recently - just awful.

With Kids TV today, sure there are some awful programmes, but there are some fab ones too - Horrible Histories, Deadly 60, Sarah Jane Adventures ... I could go on.

IMO, you can't generalise all kids tv shows from a whole decade and say one decade was great, and the other rubbish. That's just silly.
