Dh will be the brave hero bringing up the girls amd I won't have to deal with the small town cliques and gossip that seem to hover over primary age friendship groups.

As an incomer I am not related to anyone or slept with anyones husband however this makes me difficult to place socially and the DDs are suffering from a lack of out of school invites.

I figure if I fit a sensor on the drive then I can hide in my lovely new summerhouse when the local ladies come round bringing cake and casseroles to console DH. The DDs will then get lots of invites on the beach, pony riding, cafe trips, etc that we keep hearing about after the event or witness as four of DD2s friends cycle past without asking us to join them.

AIBU, I do not fear the loneliness, I have namechanged & changed but have been snuggled down in this nest since dial-up days and quite enjoy pottering around the 'estate'.

Hi O.P just to second OliviaMMumsnet. I'm really heartily sorry that you're going through a bad patch.
Cliques are horrible and insensitive and very immature. I was never included in cliques but I just used to include myself. When D.D was leaving primary school a group of mothers were arranging meal and I just invited myself a long. I wasn't about to ask their permission as to where I could and couldn't go. In regards to your thread though it's bad enough to exclude adults but to do that to children is going way past the limit. xxx

Beamur · 21/08/2013 22:34

Join stuff? Brownies/PTA's etc - become part of the clique, or in trusted MN stylee, seek out the other nobdies and make a new quiche.

SurfsUpDude · 21/08/2013 22:37

Well LEM clearly we clearly can't win if you stay put or move a mile from your own dunghill.

So new plan, MNHQ need to build a new town, Milton Keynes style for all of us that need it, secretly though I'd rather miss the grit in the oyster.

Good night till tomorrow and good luck.

Ummmm do we think Olivia didn't read the thread?

internationallove985 · 21/08/2013 22:43

Just to also add O.P you're welcome at mumsnet. This site can be outspoken direct yes may sometimes even a bit do I dare say no and again somewhat bitchy and I include myself in all of that, but one thing it's not is cliquey.
Yes we differ on things (it's only human nature) and things can get heated but the world wouldn't go round if we all had the same opinions, thoughts and ideas. Imaging how boring that would be, we'd all be robotic. xx
