Took DD, 3, to Peppa Pig World today. OMG the queues!!!!! [whole other thread...]

Anyway, whilst in the gift shop, I was looking at all the Ty soft toys, which included Peppa and George's own cuddly toys of choice, when I overheard a mum tell her DD "You can't have a dinosaur, you are a girl"!!

WIBU to give her a face, and say loudly "look, DD at these lovely dinosaurs", to which she said promptly said "Mummy I want one", and I said "yes, of course you can"

Disclaimer: we were planning to buy a souvenir, I don't in general buy her whatever she says she wants!

I saw something about some dinosaur book and they all had boys names....

OMG all my girls love dinosaurs. We have planned trips before to go see dinosaur museums, dragging along poor DH and DS.

DD1 17 is mad on them
DD2 5 just wants to go stroke one, we haven't told her they are extinct yet
DD3 3 loves the cuddly ones and the noise they make

They are a very androgonous topic and IMO the mother is what is wrong with parenting today. where are the future scientists, anthropologists, archaeologists when parents are dissuading half of the future population.
