AIBU to have said to these two children who were stood by DD's trampoline

That
"It works better if you get ON it!"

The looks of joy on their faces! Grin

I live in a block of flats with a huge communal garden. DD's trampoline is right outside my kitchen window and I encourage ALL the children to use it and the adults

I could hear them saying 'but we don't know whose it is, someone might shout at us!'

So I said the above and told them it was mine
Can now hear squeals of joy!

Their dad came over and told them to get off
So I stuck head out of window and told him it was mine and I was fine with it. Told him to have a go too!

And HE DID!

The roars of laughter from these two small children as Dad had the time of his life will stay with me for a long time.
That trampoline is now a very happy trampoline
I rang DD and told her and she laughed too!

So. Was I BU?
Grin

That is lovely...although they/you should have checked with dad first too

BrevilleTron · 19/08/2013 19:58

I said it was fine by me if it was ok with him
He seems a lovely chap! Clearly adored by his two girls.
I may have taken a little longer than I should have to step away from the window when his trousers began to slip

Shouts of "Daaad! You're showing your PANTS!
Suddenly had to find something in the other room to busy myself withSmile

When I came back he had fixed his minor wardrobe malfunction

Most of my neighbours have small children and they love it
and the dcs sleep very well after a good bounce

One little lad stared in amazement at 'the bouncyline'
And asked "is this the park?"
I check it when I get home for any damaged springs etc and so far it's doing ok

YourHandInMyHand · 19/08/2013 20:20

Aaw how nice of you OP. Smile

BlazinStoke my boy is autistic and loves his trampoline, what miserable wankers complaining about a little boy bouncing away happily!

PenguinBear · 19/08/2013 20:20

Can you be our neighbour op? Grin

BrevilleTron · 19/08/2013 20:22

Of course PenguinBear
or are you just after the trampoline? Grin

CheeseandPickledOnion · 19/08/2013 20:25

Cheered me right up! Grin

Thesimplethings · 19/08/2013 20:26

I wish there were more people like you op! You probably made those people's day

BrevilleTron · 19/08/2013 20:26

I'm just a big kid!
I make dens and pirate ships and fly my Rover flag from the trampoline pretending its a ship when I'm looking after my friends DCs
My DD is 'too old' for all that 'baby stuff' and I'm desperate for another DC but its not happening yet.

So I indulge my kid side when I can!

I left this place a while back as it was so awful.
I came back for a reason, so whilst I'm here, may I hang around with you, please. You seem like a lovely sort, you made me smile and sniff a bit.

Runningchick123 · 19/08/2013 20:28

How could anyone complain about an autistic lad happily playing on a trampoline. He probably needs the vestibular sensory experience that the trampoline provides. I could understand if he was kicking a ball and it was hitting their window, but a trampoline squeeking?? I would have been tempted to pay a relative to get drunk and shout outside their window for hours at night.

OP - sounds like you made a family very happy today. Which bit did you enjoy most the squeals of joy or dads wardrobe malfunction Grin

PistachioTruffle · 19/08/2013 20:33

Ahh, you sound like a lovely neighbour OP Grin

ExitPursuedByABear · 19/08/2013 20:33

That's lovely.

thebody · 19/08/2013 20:34

I am sooooo sorry to say one note of caution because I just have to.

have you a net? if not please get one.

do you have number limits? if you don't trampolining is dangerous especially if adult is in with a child/ children

if anyone had an accident on your trampoline the parents can sue you.

sorry sorry sorry I know its not morally right but it happens and accidents happen. 😭

YOU SOUND LOVELY but please be careful.

littlemisswise · 19/08/2013 20:34

Awww OP you sound lovely.

As for whoever complained about an autistic lad playing on a trampoline, well --they're just cunts- words fail me.

BrevilleTron · 19/08/2013 20:37

Gotta be the squeals of joy.
Dads pants were not my favourite type
DH has 'Duck and Cover' pants
These were more 'Duck and Run'!

One of my neighbours is a lovely Muslim lady with a gorgeous 2 year old and she had to show him how to bounce. She was laughing so hard at his face when he was watching her! She popped to the window the next day and said that it had tired him out so much he slept through!
So thanks to the trampoline she had her first unbroken night of sleep since he was born!

She brought me some lovely Indian style sweets to say thanks!

DameFanny · 19/08/2013 20:37
