He's lying there, flat on his back with his lips flapping in the breeze making a noise like a stuck pig.

I have poked, yanked, tugged, elbowed and shouted. He shuts up for a few seconds then rolls back into position and starts again.

I'm so bloody tired I feel sick.

I actually hate him right now Angry

I find the skill of nipping DH's leg hair 'twixt my toes and giving a good yank helps tremendously.
A sharp finger in the ear, a poke in the neck or a pinch of his upper arm sometimes does the trick too...

Order a SnoreWizard mouth guard. I have heard miraculous things about them.

If he snores when sleeping on his back, try the trick of sewing something to the back of his pyjamas so that it's too uncomfortable.

Can I suggest you all send your really bad snorers off to the GP. My grandfather had this problem, the whole house would seem to resonate with it. Had a sleep study done and turns out the awful snoring is due to sleep apnoea. He wears a CPAP mask at night now which stops the snoring altogether and he says he has better quality sleep now.

Not long after he started using the mask my nan complained that rather than sleeping better she was waking up thinking he'd died as it was so much quieter! Grin

Can you put sofa cushions on floor ?

ohforfoxsake · 19/08/2013 07:00

It's utter shit isn't it? Separate rooms here too (bliss, although my bed is full of sleeping children at the mo). I'd recommend Sleep pro which helps a lot, and also with sleep apnoea.

DH needs to lose weight and stop drinking every night, but if he isn't going to make the effort to do something about it, I'm not sleeping with him. I've had enough of feeling angry and stabby all night, every night.
You have my sympathies OP!

My only solution was to finally after 10 years together of getting hubby to get a diagnosis of sleep apnea and a CPAP machine! I sleep so much better now (as well as him!)
