The following got sent around the (very small) office today:

We all cried with laughter but one womans DH thought it was "a bit mean".

(the boy isn't in danger at all, there is a floor and bar under him)

That is hilarious! Me & dh were laughing our heads off!

Ilovemyself · 15/08/2013 19:33

Seen it before. I did laugh bun then it appeals to my sense of humour. Nobody died so what's the problem.

Ilovemyself · 15/08/2013 19:33

But not bun lol

Fakebook · 15/08/2013 19:37

I don't find it funny because I hate these type of videos. He could have seriously hurt himself. I hate you've been framed too.

kinkyfuckery · 15/08/2013 19:40

I find it horrendous! I'd have punched 'Janice' in the face afterwards.

That's if it wasn't a set-up, which I suspect it was!

MirandaGoshawk · 15/08/2013 19:40

I don't find it funny seeing someone in distress.

mynameisslimshady · 15/08/2013 19:42

I don't really think seeing other people, especially children, being terrified for their life is funny.

IneedAyoniNickname · 15/08/2013 19:44

I didn't find it funny either,

LongTailedTit · 15/08/2013 19:48

Nope, no smiles here either, and I can happily laugh at YBF type stuff usually.
He didn't even look safe.

phantomnamechanger · 15/08/2013 19:49

bloody hell - not at all funny - he clearly thought he was about to die!

but hey, let's all laugh at the daft fat kid Hmm

imagine that being YOUR child, this was not a you've been framed trip/slip, he was terrified for his life!

SaucyJack · 15/08/2013 19:53

Not funny. I'd bet my life savings he was taken on the ride and filmed, because they knew he was the scared type and they wanted to get a fat kid video to stick on YouTube for people to laugh at.

thebody · 15/08/2013 19:57

I thought it was absolutely vile and so did dh and all 4 of my dcs.

but then I don't like laughing at other people's distress really.

vile and horrible.

BinarySolo · 15/08/2013 20:00

Poor kid Sad. Sorry not funny at all. Whether he was safe or not he clearly was terrified and the straps round his neck didn't look particularly safe.

His aunt's a bit of a bitch for laughing so much as his distress.

SJisontheway · 15/08/2013 20:02

No. Not funny. He is very clearly distressed. Not funny at all

learnasyougo · 15/08/2013 20:02

Not at all funny. That kid thought he was going to die. I don't think he was safe, either. He could have asphyxiated.

Have you ever been in fear of your life? And I mean REALLY in fear? If so, you'd know it's not funny one bit.

ChimeForChange · 15/08/2013 20:02

Not funny :-(

Imagine the fear he felt that instant

Bowlersarm · 15/08/2013 20:03

I don't really understand why this is provoking such reactions, people finding it either hilarious or shocking.

I would imagine half the people taking part in roller coster rides or thrill rides are reacting exactly like these two. One loving it, the other hysterical. Both normal reactions, I would think.

but bowler, this was not just the thrill of the ride - he slipped almost out of the harness and clearly thought he was going to die.

Feminine · 15/08/2013 20:07

No not funny.

What bit is supposed to be?

phantomnamechanger · 15/08/2013 20:08

I do not for one minute think it was a set up/fake - the distress in his voice was genuine and he LOOKED unsafe.

Bowlersarm · 15/08/2013 20:09

Oh phantom did I miss the whole point then? I thought he was just frightened of the ride. (I act like that whenever I am bullied by my DC's to go on anything like that, should have learnt that I really don't like them by now)

Ilovemyself · 15/08/2013 20:09

She probably didn't know he had slipped so I think it is unfair to have a go at her.

And there does seem to be a serious sense of humour failure tonight.

You don't go on thrill rides if you are going to be too scared.

BinarySolo · 15/08/2013 20:09

Bowlersarm I think that's exactly why it's polarising opinions. It's the juxtaposition of the two of them. If she reacted with concern then people wouldn't have the strong reaction. It's the aunt laughing whilst he's obviously terrified that makes it uncomfortable viewing for me.

twofingerstoGideon · 15/08/2013 20:11

It's the aunt laughing whilst he's obviously terrified that makes it uncomfortable viewing for me.

And the webbing straps under his neck, and the fact that he appears to be falling out of the seat...

It's horrid.
