To take up the mole traps from PIL lawn?

Staying at the PILs whilst they're away for the week. Beautiful garden with a lawn currently getting ruined by 'that bloody mole'. FIL has set traps, holes dig in lawn trap laid, piece of ply on top.
He's set up a goalpost next to the minefield for DCs (2 and 4.5) to play with. MIL expressed some concern about 'tiny fingers' but was dismissed.
They left a couple of hours ago and DH is taking them up.
We're right aren't we?

Just to clarify about my preferred method of trap disposal: once the spring (s) has been removed, a mole trap is a set of flappy bits of metal with no mechanism, which is no risk to passing fish/otters/kingfishers.

The snares I normally pick up carefully, then dispose of in a bin, as they do get wrapped around things, even when disarmed.

I will admit to littering with the crow trap, but it was a hefty thing, and if I'd have picked it up and moved it, I would have probably been seen and got into trouble.

I have a beaver that needs some attention.

That makes more sense.

I imagine the mole was incandescent with rage when you plonked your tent on his house! Grin

HoneyDragon · 15/08/2013 22:08

Thebody, did it burrow up through your foundations?

In my defence I was present well before Simon

TiggyD · 15/08/2013 22:12

KingRollo, you have to keep your scent off them. Store them in a natural material bag with some dirt in and take them out and use them with muddy gloves on. You need to find a decent run and not disturb it much. They work pretty well.

you do like to project and judge.

you are very vitriolic and judgemental arnt you.

thebody I get it! Even with the dodgy spelling and grammar I think I can get the message and you can stop saying it now. Grin

Emilythornesbff · 15/08/2013 22:53

Oh. I see that taking them up was a temporary thing.
Fair enough. No need to have an injured toddler.

smallfaces · 16/08/2013 00:22

It's a mole ffs, not a fucking unicorn. Even if it is cute, I'd still be getting rid of it.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 16/08/2013 00:31

If it was me, I'd take them up and the pil would never see those traps again.
