So expensive, but treated myself, Can't even swallow it with pinching my nose! What a waste as I generally love all those healthy drinks.

I like it, very refreshing and hydrating.

Meglet · 15/08/2013 22:04

Yanbu. Vita coco is minging. I thought I was being oh so healthy sipping it on the way back from the supermarket, ended up gagging on the stuff. Chucked most of it down the sink.

I do like wheatgrass type health drinks though.

Depends where you get it from. The cans from the chinese supermarket: gorgeous. The cartons from the supermarket: totally rank.

garlicagain · 15/08/2013 23:03

I like it. But, then, I like the water from fresh coconuts with the top chopped off, too. A lot of people find that disappointing - although at least they can have it cut open and eat the meat. It doesn't taste 'cononutty'.

For the PP who asked: Coconut water is the thin, clear liquid in the hollow centre of the fruit. Coconut milk is the liquid that comes out when they make dessicated coconut (or you can make it by pressing water through dessicated.) Dried coconut milk is the dried and ground meat, also called coconut flour.

How can you all like the ones with bits in??noone in my house liked it. I tried soooo hard to drink it cz it was expensive but no. The bits were even worse. I really dont want a drink with bits in

Lweji · 15/08/2013 23:10

I love it fresh from the coconut (Brazil), but hated it when tried it bottled (never again).

It's really refreshing and I know nothing about any health properties.

BumPop · 15/08/2013 23:11

creighton pointed out ny mistake, no rum. Grin

MarmaladeTwatkins · 16/08/2013 09:19

Eugh it is foul. It tastes like bum swill.

It's a bit The Emperor's New Clothes, I think. Rihanna/Madonna spotted drinking it and swearing by it, so old muggoes on the street rush out and pay £2 for a teeny carton of spunky water.

Vile.

Revengeofkarma · 16/08/2013 20:55

I love it. Just love it. And if you have a sour stomach for whatever reason (morning sickness anyone?) sorts it right out. The second I get sick, my hubby stocks up. All of South America/Carribbean uses it all the time. Great after exercise.

garlicagain · 16/08/2013 21:07

Seems as though everyone either likes it or hates it!

Who'da thunk coconut water had so much in common with Marmite Wink

SelfconfessedSpoonyFucker · 16/08/2013 21:09

My DS' love it. Some I like, some taste like gym sweat.

currentlyconfuseddotcom · 16/08/2013 21:11

garlic I'm a neutral - sorry! Not quite sure what to make of coconut water. I do, in fact, have a coconut (a live one) downstairs but can't remember how to break into it, so to speak.

Revengeofkarma · 17/08/2013 11:28

Machete. Or hatchet. Seriously.

GW297 · 17/08/2013 12:22

It is revolting and very expensive!

nennypops · 17/08/2013 12:28

I love it, particularly in hot weather when you don't necessarily want to go for tea. Not too sweet, not too acidic, a great thirst-quencher.
