So expensive, but treated myself, Can't even swallow it with pinching my nose! What a waste as I generally love all those healthy drinks.

I bought vita coco too thinking it an expensive treat, poured it down the sink in the end!
Love fresh coconut water though.

Flappingandflying · 15/08/2013 19:37

Utterly vile. Tasted of cardboard. Chucked it down the sink.

AmberDextrous · 15/08/2013 19:43

Worst than swallowing after a blow job!
Rank!
I usually love healthy things, DH got us some free cartons at an event recently & I was really excited to try it & then...... boakConfused

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/08/2013 19:44

love coconut water/milk

work buys it in a carton and i drink it Grin

very refreshing :)

dirtyface · 15/08/2013 19:45

what is in coconut water then, if its not coconut milk :S

LeGavrOrf · 15/08/2013 19:47

I bought some from Whole Foods, paid their exorbitant price for it.

I thought that it would taste like a bounty. Well that was a disappointment,

Famzilla · 15/08/2013 19:53

I bought some as a post workout treat. Was really looking forward to it.

Would rather have drank my own puke. I even tried to force it down as it was so expensive but I couldn't even manage 100ml. It's vile.

stopgap · 15/08/2013 19:54

It tastes like skimmed milk to me, and I hate dairy products. But nevertheless I persist in drinking coconut water, as the electrolytes are beneficial on hot days.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/08/2013 19:56

madamcasta - your oh must have some yukky tasting spunk pmsl

Madamecastafiore · 15/08/2013 20:14

Well it's not Purdeys!!!

I did ask him if he liked doing it on me(chest) as not to ha e to have it in my mouth, he mega impressed at martyrdom!

Had the coconut mumble straight off tree in Caribbean, warm boakiness!

itsblackoveryonderhill · 15/08/2013 20:15

I love it, although DH did tell me that cocnut water is a natural laxative, so i'm not drinking too much of it.

I think it will be my new treat for a drink because all I drink is water all day and 2 cups of decaff tea at the most.

it is expensive though.

Amibambini · 15/08/2013 20:32

I really like it, its refreshing. And it's about the only cold drink in the shops you can buy that isn't full of sugar, aside from bottled water.

If you buy it expecting coconut milk you will be sorely dissapointed though. Fresh coconuts aren't full of milk, they are full of coconut water.

Bexicles · 15/08/2013 20:37

I think vita coco is part owned by Madonna, it appears to have monopolised the market here in the UK. I quite like it especially after a work out.

kali110 · 15/08/2013 20:41

Its rank.mine even had bits in it. No, just no

Hamwidgeandcheps · 15/08/2013 20:47

I like it. It's an acquired taste I reckon because its not v sweet but I really like it Grin

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 15/08/2013 20:51

Anything coconut related is vile.

The smell and the taste of it makes me heave.

chocolatemartini · 15/08/2013 20:52

Yes it's expensive and vile

EatingAllTheCrumpets · 15/08/2013 20:58

Thank god it's not just me! A few of my fitness freaks friends swear by the stuff and told me how delicious it was. How sweet it was.

So off I toddled, bought a ridiculously priced carton on Vita Coco. I don't even have the words for how vile it was. Gave it to DH and he said it was disgusting. Friends seem to think we're odd for not liking it!

LittleNoona · 15/08/2013 21:01

Love coconut water!

Did you get the one with the little chunks of coconut in it?

bruffin · 15/08/2013 21:07

I love coconut water, but there are nicer ones than vitacoco.

plim · 15/08/2013 21:41

It upsets my stomach - I love it but it gives me awful stomach cramps and wind! Blush

zipzap · 15/08/2013 21:45

Love coconut water - best obviously from a fresh green coconut, but vita coco and the tins of grace coconut water are nice too.

There's another brand in my sainsburys though that I bought several tins of as they were out of the others - and it was vile - sweaty and incredibly fake and sugary. that has stayed unopened on the shelf and will get donated to the next school 'bring a bottle' request Grin

I used to live near a market in London that had a man with a machete and a big pile of green coconuts who could effortlessly slice the top off and hand it over so you could drink the juice then slurp eat the jelly pulp. yum. Then he disappeared - turned out the coconut juice business was actually a convenient sideline to cover the drugs being imported alongside (inside?) too Sad - when they busted them the coconut stand was no more.

I thought all was saved when I spotted a green coconut in Morrisons. No drugs issues there I thought to curb supply. But no. If you don't have a machete then they are a bloody nightmare to get into. I tried drilling in like you would with a hard coconut but didn't get very far. Eventually I had to see if dh could help. He tried to no avail. He finally got the axe out... Let's just say the final score was coconut 43 (including chopping my chopping board in bits with an axe) - dh 1.

He managed to open it eventually - but because he had got so caught up in trying to open it, he didn't listen to me saying that I hadn't managed to drain the coconut water so it ended up going all over the kitchen floor...

Needless to say, I now get my coconut juice in a can or carton and not from a green coconut GrinSad

whois · 15/08/2013 21:48

You are totally and utterly U Op!

Coconut water is LUSH. There is a brand that has bits of coconut in too in the can. Yummy.

EmmaBemma · 15/08/2013 21:52

Bought some Vita Coca for the supermarket because I read somewhere it's the ideal rehydrating drink after running. Absolutely disgusting. Poured it down the sink, I'm afraid.

creighton · 15/08/2013 21:53

put some rum in it, like a sensible person
