To only just have realised that the direction of the stripes on the candies in Candy Crush dictates which way the fuckers explode

Level 133 and I have only just realised that the stripes on the candies tells you which way the little bastards will explode. I thought it was random.

I really need to get a life!

I'm on level 135 (and stuck!) and didn't know this very helpful indeed.

Those of you who are waiting for lives - if you're playing on a smartphone (I assume it works on others, I have an iPhone) then if you go and alter the phone's time to a few hours ahead you get 5 lives again and then go and alter it back before you start to play. I learnt that on here

I don't pay, I do the quests

What's wrong with the bombs though? They're useful aren't they? Or am I thinking of the wrong thing?

I'm on the quests after level 80

I'm at level 60 or so, and am battling with the evil chocolate. On the plus side, it's put me off chocolate IRL Wink.

Took me forever to realise I could do quests to unlock more levels though (or is that a fairly recent thing?)

meditrina I tried the quest route once and you had to complete 3 and wait 24 hours in between completing each one. As patience is not my strong point, I now go for the 69p option every time!

What quests? I am on a laptop, and I get the choice of paying 10p per ticket (3 tickets per level) or getting a friend favour thing per ticket. I wasn't offered quests!

Level 140 - you have 40 moves to blow up 300ish candies so you need to concentrate on putting together stripeys, wrapped ones, and disco balls. Don't get overly hung up on the colours, you just need to blast the crap out of the board and it will work in the end. Maybe.

Oh and quests?! I have never seen/heard of these either!! I play on the iPhone app...

On the Android app you tap on the next greyed out level and it offers you buy next episode, connect to FB or play quests, I think.

And I'm not on FB, an evil consumer of time (unlike Candy Crush, which is a sane, normal, harmless occupation for a woman of a Certain Age).

A little cheat meditrina
If you are in android, go into settings change date, open up candy crush then close it properly and then you can go back into date and set for correct date again. When you for back into Cs it should let you play the next quest.
You do the same to get more lives.

Wait til you hit level 411 - there are tornado's. Bastard things quickly lost their cute novelty value and are now more hated than chocolate

I had it pointed out to me by a 9 year old. Who also pointed out that the colour of the level number shows you whether it's a jelly/challenge/points level.

Can I just say.... Anyone waiting for lives and playing in a phone/tablet can get more lives by flicking your date forward 24hrs then go over up CC and you'll see you have full lives. Then just flick your date back and play!

I play on an iPad and in the top left corner there is a thing with 2 arrows and a number 5, which, when you press, tries to get you to buy 5 more lives, but next to it there's a lollipop and it originally said 3. I pressed it, not much happened but the next time I touched the board a lollipop hammer smashed the jelly I'd touched.

I used 1 lolloipop more to batter the last little fucker on level 123 so now have 1 left but I haven't paid for them. I think it's to encourage you you buy them, give you a few free ones to show you what they can do.

Tornados? I didn't think there would be anything I hated more than the chocolate.
