Nothing constructive to say other than, this is the wedding thread that just keeps on giving!

I have loved all 3 threads! I do wonder if any of the wedding guests have read this yet!

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 10/08/2013 23:06

i love the fact that there is a gluezilla, gluesister and now a hunfriend in this saga!... and its now on fb!

im placing my bet now for a 4th thread... its so gonna happen Grin

i too have friends that "hun" Hmm

TheDoctrineOfAllan · 10/08/2013 23:08

But there's no mention of a GlueGroom.

GlueGroom
I saw you standing
Looking at a bare room
With no Tidy decs there.

FruOla · 11/08/2013 06:59

I agree, Doctrine, It does make you wonder where GlueGroom has been while this saga has been playing out over the last few weeks. Or is he just too terrified to tell Gluezilla she's been behaving badly?

Great poem, BTW Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/08/2013 09:32

I said a while back surprised the groom/mil havnt got involved

As both on Fb you will see the wedding pics and can comment on the decorated venue Grin

ShellyBoobs · 11/08/2013 09:54

So which other 'characters' will appear in the saga?

GlueGroom has been mentioned but what about GlueFOB and GlueMIL?

And who is GlueMOH? Is GlueSis doubling up in that role?

Come on Tidy, there must be more people you can introduce to us for the benefit of the thread(s)!

Grin

Completely agree with Dorothy's perception of the "apology".

The way gluesister says "I'm sorry you feel like that" says to me "you shouldn't feel like that because it's inconvenient for us".

She's placing responsibility for how her "poor" sister feels with you.

Sorry if anyone already made that point - I've only been reading the OP's posts.

DorothyMantooth · 11/08/2013 11:07

John, some have interpreted Gluesis's message in this way but most agree with OP and think that Gluesis is apologising in a diplomatic way for GZ's behaviour whilst not openly betraying her. To me, saying "I'm sorry you feel hurt" is not the same as saying "I'm sorry I hurt you", it takes any of the responsibility away from the apologiser and puts it onto the apologee.

Personally I think GS couldn't care less about the ins and outs of GZ's behaviour (especially since she doesn't even know Tidy well) and is just trying to find a solution to the problem she's probably been hearing about for weeks that will stop her from having to choke her own sister on a pritt stick.

tidy, I think you're doing the right thing, but I'd be going nuts thinking of all the things I wanted to say to them. To relieve your feelings, PLEASE anonymously post GZ a sylvanian figurine as suggested by someone upthread. GZ is bound to write something about it on FB!

TidyDancer · 11/08/2013 11:40

A couple more facebook replies of "are you okay?" from others, but nothing more from gluezilla yet.

Her own facebook has been suspiciously quiet wrt to general life lately, just the usual wedding updates, but nothing much else.

TidyDancer · 11/08/2013 11:41

Ooh anonymous sylvanians! I like it! Grin

clam · 11/08/2013 12:24

Ooh, what sort of wedding updates?

Nice that she's wanting to keep all those of you no longer invited up-to-speed with things! Hmm

DidoTheDodo · 11/08/2013 12:32

HURRAH HURRAH HURRAH. (for FB of course!)
That is all.

FruOla · 11/08/2013 17:18

Tidy, is there a colour theme to this wedding? You might have seen it on Glue's FB?

I'm thinking about some Bridezilla threads I've read over the last few years - one BZ, in particular, who wanted all her guests to wear red (or was it pink)!

PureDeadBrilliant · 11/08/2013 18:40

Have you texted your friend yet?

Trills · 11/08/2013 18:43

I just want to applaud you for updating, and for starting the new threads yourself (and keeping the same name) so that your posts are highlighted.

Of course other MNers are witty and engaging and wonderful, but I just don't have time to read 3,000 posts! :o

MintyChops · 11/08/2013 18:55

Hunning is unforgivable. As if Gluezilla wasn't bad enough she has to crack out the "Hun" just to make us think even less of her....

Did you text your friend yet Tidy?

TidyDancer · 11/08/2013 19:40

I sent her a text this morning, just asking how she was and had she spoken to gluezilla lately? She hasn't replied yet, but will update when/if she does.

There is a theme to the wedding apparently. I forgot all about it tbh, but it was alluded to on the save the date card. This is in real danger of outing me now (but fuck it, because everyone agrees with me Grin), but the theme is 50s and 60s Hollywood.

clam · 11/08/2013 20:19

50s/60s Hollywood? Please tell me that's just for the main cast, not guests too?
(In which case be bloody glad you got cut!)

MrsKoala · 11/08/2013 20:25

Are they 12? 50s and 60s Hollywood ffs. Seriously, that sounds tacky as fuck. Sorry, i try to be nice but even i have my limits.

Katisha · 11/08/2013 20:26

Oh lord. That would be a MAJOR venue decorating hassle.

HorryIsUpduffed · 11/08/2013 20:29

Unless you throw a lot of money at a theme it looks like a leavers' disco. And we know GZ isn't throwing money at it, otherwise she would have invited all her STDs.

tinypumpkin · 11/08/2013 20:32

Loving the leavers disco image, I can just picture the sylvanians dancing around to dodgy tunes.

TidyDancer · 11/08/2013 20:33

No, it's very definitely for the guests as well. Everyone is expected to adhere to it!
