To think that there is either a serial killer or a ghost in my house?

My DP went to work this morning via the front door. He locked it from the outside as he left. I was fast asleep. When I woke up several hours later I went to leave by the front door and it was bolted from the inside! I checked the back door and this too was locked from the inside!

I am MAJORLY freaking out and have just made DP tape up the attic door.

Please tell me I ABU and that there is a logical explanation!

WHAT ?! Shock

Runningchick123 · 27/07/2013 07:50

The OP slept until 3pm ish in a drunken state; chances are she got up and bolted the door and then forgot about it as alcohol has that affect on the memory.
My OH has been known to get up early in the morning after a drinking session, have a bath and go back to bed and even have no memory of the bath when he properly wakes several hours later.

OP? You still there?

DryCounty79 · 27/07/2013 09:58

At the risk of sounding stupid slightly naive, how could a ghost manage to bolt a door or two? They float through things, so how could it form a solid enough fist to hold on to and shut the bolts?

I am strongly leaning towards the sleepwalking/drunken stupor activities theory. I have woken up after having had a drink with my lights on (no recollection of turning them on, definitely switched them off before bed), and one morning found an empty lemonade bottle and my knickers on the stairs. Still no idea what happened there, and that was over a decade ago..

toryalane · 27/07/2013 13:57

LOLZ at the empty lemonade bottle, knickers on the stairs!

No odd occurrences. Bolt remained unlocked and loft tape remained undisturbed.
