My 23 month old son wakes at 5.30 to 6am every day

Which is fine, it is just his sleep pattern. He goes asleep at 7pm every night. But I keep thinking of a previous AIBU thread where parents who let their toddlers watch 2-3 hours of tele a day were flamed, in particular one poster said parents who do this "obviously their heart isn't in it"

So AIBU to think these same parents don't have an early riser...

Because my heart is very much into parenting, but from 5.45 to hopefully 7.15 I can manage to lie in bed whilst DS watches the iPad... Or am I supposed to be bouncing around downstairs coming up with fun filled activities at dawn?

(For the record he also watches the bedtime hour on cbeebies - wind down time.. - hence the 2-3 hours)

Dp told dd she's not allowed children's telly on this morning I think it will be going on once he's gone to work....

No matter how late to bed my DC wakes at 5:30am.. What's worse is I now wake at 5am anticipating being jumped on :(

Thanks too this thread, I'm no longer a blubbing wreck. This morning at least. Ds 11 months wakes up several times in the night, won't go in the cot without screaming the house down, then insists on "snuggling" all frigging night. Then to add insult to injury wakes up full of beans at 5ish.

I lie on the sofa thinking about how unfair it is whilst he molests the dog an half watches tv. Even the poor dog looks suicidal now when we come down in a morning!

My 20mo rises between 530-6 everyday, has no interest in the tv and doesn't go to sleep until 9or 10pm!!! Consider yourself lucky to have from 7pm onwards!!!
