To think that a 40 year old man should not be buying Lynx?

Grin

DH insists that it is nice. I beg to differ. Every morning when I go into the bathroom after him, I am literally eating the stuff. It's like walking into a teenage boy's bedroom.

I've suggested alternatives like a nice bit of Old Spice or Brut Wink but he insists that Lynx is the one. It IS the one. If you're 14 and ride a chicken chaser.

It was all you could smell after PE. They should make it mandatory for PE to be least so that people are not subjected to overpowering smells in classes. This goes for the girls too as your nose was assaulted with various body shop perfumes and sprays.

Run no you're not the only one. I love it when dh (32) wears lynx as it reminds me of when we first met aged 17 and carefree. Not that im hanging on to my youth or anything but with things likes mortgages and kids now its nice to remember us as the hot young couple we once were Grin

MannishBoy · 16/07/2013 15:17

I'm 40 and can't wear Lynx, even if I wanted to. It aggravates my skin.
Nivea is aces as it's fragrance free so doesn't clash with my classy cologne.

Nor my medallion.

Darkesteyes · 16/07/2013 15:28

DH is 63 and he wears it. Hes got Lynx Apollo and Twist at the mo.
Know what you mean about the difference between deodarant and body spray.
In this weather i wear Dove anti perspirant and Impulse body spray. I know i know Impulse at 40 but i like their Romantic Spark one. And in this weather it is needed.
I used to wear those Charlie body sprays but they seem to be too strong now.

Tiredmumno1 · 16/07/2013 15:31

I am using lynx for her at the mo Blush Grin

loveliesbleeding1 · 16/07/2013 15:33

Just glad it wasnt only me tiggy!

therewearethen · 16/07/2013 15:47

DP uses lynx, DP is 38 Hmm licking a man's chest after he has used lynx is a particular treat Grin has not been reading the other thread honestly!

mumofthemonsters808 · 16/07/2013 15:55

Your post made me giggle, my OH (45) has been wearing it as long as I have known him (20 years). He may secretly hope that it has the same effect on women as the adverts imply.

Darkesteyes · 16/07/2013 16:40

Name of the Rose your post made me giggle. When we were teens my DB used to douse himself in Brut. Made me cough like hell.

bigkidsdidit · 16/07/2013 16:41

Oh the heady days of teenage lust, lynx java mingling with body shop dewberry body spray

TiggyD · 16/07/2013 16:51

Darkesteyes, are you sure I can't smell your Charlie from here?

picnicbasketcase · 16/07/2013 20:48

DH uses Lynx shower gel but not the boy perfume, thankfully, and the smell of shower gel doesn't hang around too long. There's not really much point to deodorant that isn't antiperspirant is there?

cocolepew · 16/07/2013 20:56

I bought it for DH Blush it was on offer in Asda

I had to cut my way through the fog it left to get into the bathroom.
I'm sure it gave me consumption.

IneedAyoniNickname · 16/07/2013 21:05

When I briefly dabbled in online dating recently, one man told me he wore lynx, as if that made him either unusual or exotic or something Confused

Now I have nothing against Lynx, just not sure how its a chat up line!

Spartacus101 · 16/07/2013 21:14

What was the purple one back in the early nineties? The scent of my youthful fumbles Grin

McGeeDiNozzo · 17/07/2013 04:40

Lynx is pungent crap! Avoid!

BadLad · 17/07/2013 04:44

If Alan Partridge does something, it's usually a bad idea.

Mimishimi · 17/07/2013 04:45

My 40 year old DH uses it and I still like it. I didn't realise it's age specific Confused

Buzzardbird · 17/07/2013 06:22

Yy, lynx is a body spray, not an anti-perspirant. They should use both...just not lynx Africa.

ComposHat · 17/07/2013 14:50

anyone over the age of 20 purchasing lynx needs to have a word with themselves. Wgo wants to smell like a teenage boy, sweat angst and stale cum masked by the cheapest of chemical smells.

To be on the safe side they should probably be made to sign the nonce register at the Boots counter too if they persist in buying the stuff.

Tapirbackrider · 17/07/2013 15:21

It could be worse, they could all be wearing Jovan Musk!

DP is 36 and refuses any kind of lynx at all, i bought him lynx shower gel the other day and he threw a massive diva strop saying id bought him the wrong one, as lynx makes him smell of b.o.

I asked was he using it right and burst into laughter, but asked around a few male relatives as to who i could palm the giant bottle of lynx shower gel on and they all refused and said the same thing, its more a body spray than deoderant. Dp uses right guard all the way and smells much nicer plus i dont eat half of it before ive got to the front door. Im looking at you lynx apollo!

GreenSkittles · 17/07/2013 19:23

I occasionally use Lynx Fever shower gel. A beauty blogger I follow once mentioned grabbing it at Superdrug from one of those bins near the cash registers because she had no time to go and browse for one, and she loved the scent. So I picked one up for 99p and loved the scent, it's very zingy. I've kept one in the cupboard ever since.

DS uses Lynx or adidias, but I might pick the M&S one up for him to try Smile

Bumpotato · 17/07/2013 19:32

DH has used Lynx Africa forever. He overdo it so smells just fine. In 22 years I've never known him to smell sweaty or of BO. his feet fucking stink though
