I think it is fine to have a personal preference (interesting though as I would be very uncomfortable saying I prefer to have white friends)....what is not ok is to make broad, sweeping, derogatory and inaccurate statements about 50% of society based in their gender. Ha, don't worry Buffy interesting though isn't it...I felt fine about you saying it til I thought of replacing 'male' with 'white'...This forum has really opened my eyes to how ingrained sexism is in society -I was one of those people that used to make these generalizations until I started reading here, got directed to various other resources and started questioning myself (and others) a lot more. Like I said my education is a work I progress...thank god for mn!

Self-loathers are a mystery to me, as they are the self-appointed flying monkeys of misogyny and yet are punching themselves in the face with each and every attack, but seem not to notice. Unfortunately the worst work experience I have had and the nastiest social interactions have been with other women. Men are generally ok, some are a bit patronising, but never nasty.

But star that is your personal experience...I was sexually harassed by a middle aged man of Indian origin in my last job, doesn't mean every person who fits in that demographic will be the same, and if I made some public announcement saying so I would be rightly vilified!
