AKissIsNotAContract · 06/07/2013 18:54

It's ok for children to use it, but grown women sound daft using it.

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 06/07/2013 19:03

It's rubbish in all contexts except maybe in the Muppet Christmas Carol.

The muppets are the only reasonable acception in my book...

So you can be rude and judgemental but I'm not allowed to be cross?

What colour is the sky in your world? Is it nice there? How many sleeps until you come back to where the rest if us live?*

*Once again, abusing sarcasm.

ouryve · 06/07/2013 19:07

Yes. YABU.

Next?

Fakebook · 06/07/2013 23:43

How can you explain days? A day doesn't begin until you've had a sleep.

MrsMook · 06/07/2013 23:52

Does napping and insomnia affect the sleep counting process?

YANBU

IneedAyoniNickname · 06/07/2013 23:52

I say it to the dc, we also count days. If i was talking to another adult I'd say days (I think)

I said hollibobs IRL the other day Blush my mum and me were mimicking a really snobby woman we know (childish) and I said that I bet she has hollibobs. Mum couldn't stop laughing, and keeps saying it to me now Hmm

WafflyVersatile · 07/07/2013 01:39

Quite right OP!

they should say 'sneeps' instead. Much cuter.

4 more sneeps.

TotallyBursar · 07/07/2013 03:30

Grin Sneeps.

Waffly, still a legend.

daisychain01 · 07/07/2013 06:52

Nope YANBU, far better to say Sleepy-bow-bows, much more grown-up.

Summerblaze · 07/07/2013 07:20

My DS does not "get" days. He has developmental delay and it is the only way I can get him to understand.

OP you are BU.

RoadToTuapeka · 07/07/2013 07:35

Yanbu! I loathe it when it's used speaking to children, even more so when adults use it about their/your activities.

wonderingsoul · 07/07/2013 07:40

like fakebook.

sleeps is the only way my two , esp ds2 understands day.

a day ends with a sleep.

if it makes you feel better i do say, for example. two more days, which is 2 sleeps. Grin

Tittypulumpcious · 07/07/2013 08:14

YANBU...I loathe the Facebook status, '4 more sleeps until I see my man' urgh. fuck off

tethersend · 07/07/2013 08:21

DD says it and it makes me bitter as DD2 doesn't sleep, therefore for DD1 2 days = 2 sleeps and for me 2 days = 1 sleep

theodorakisses · 07/07/2013 13:49

It is cute from a 6 year old, from an adult nauseating. Hollibobs sayers should be shot.

Pimpf · 07/07/2013 16:19

Sleeps - fine
Holibobs - not fine

LilacPeony · 07/07/2013 18:01

ha ha. Yes i have an old school friend on FB who says things like "3 more sleeps til me and my hubs/bestie go on hollibobs."
