Ever wonder or notice the kids have disappeared when the magic key begins to glow?

yes I know you probably don't give a shit but I'm putting off doing the cleaning.

But Doodle, Floppy hates adventures so he will be cowering behind the sofa with parents.

I wanna know about the caretaker. DS got declared a free reader and we moved on to endless Michael Morpurgo stories before that. I suspect a staff conspiracy.

Don't worry stealth, Floppy would pull it out of the bag if he needed to!

They're bad. Truly bad. But there is the odd hilarious moment... anyone else had the one where Floppy cocks his leg on a tree in the park? My DD was in hysterics ...'Floppy's doing a wee, Floppy's doing a wee...!' It lightened the general homework mood. And then there was the one where Mum's skulking around in the background on each page until you work out that she's trodden in something Floppy left somewhere and is subtly wiping her shoe in the grass and looking proper pissed off. Weird. But I felt for her TBH. She's got weird kids with stupid names and Dad's generally being a moron. Often with a trumpet. She needs a G&T and a reckless affair...

I just generally loathe reading with dd2 because she makes such a fuss, but the books have grown on me a bit and dd1 will sneak a quick read of them in between Narnia chapters! I do hate though the random order in which the books come home. Dd2 though is fairly obsessive so will bring them home to order if it's a two parter. Makes more sense now than the random order dd1 aquired them in. Ds will be trained to bring home the one where they find the magic key as the sudden appearance when you're used to mud pies and hose accidents is a bit bizzare.

I'm doing the Biff, Chip and Kipper books for the first time. DS2 has judt finished P1 and our last book was the one where thry find the key. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I'm always surprised at mners moaning about those books as they are the best of a bad bunch I'd say. DS1 read Heinemann books for the first 3 years of primary school and they were hideously boring.
