Then don't spend that much money

Justforlaughs · 22/06/2013 16:02

I don't know why anyone would spend that much (possibly wedding invites - can't remember how much we paid for them) but you certainly don't have to, so buy them somewhere else.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 22/06/2013 16:03

Crazy money. Some people have more of it than sense.

usualsuspect · 22/06/2013 16:05

What a waste of money.

But each to their own.

MummyMastodon · 22/06/2013 16:05

£10 for 16 items? not that crazy?

flowery · 22/06/2013 16:06

You can't understand why anyone would pay as much as 63p a card? Confused

HighInterestRat · 22/06/2013 16:11

Just for a regular party? That is quite a lot.

This coming from the woman who wanted to send wedding invitations costing £7 each before DH gave me a good shake until my head was dislodged from my arse. Grin

They were beautiful though.

candygirl78 · 22/06/2013 16:25

I just didn't realise they cost that much. These are for sale on a facebook general sellers page so in effect they are 2nd hand although unopened of course.

I paid £45 for 30 invatations for DS's party, I don't think it's UR at all. It is a personal choice.

isitsnowingyet · 22/06/2013 16:47

Depends how nice they are....

Bunbaker · 22/06/2013 16:48

I always do mine on the laptop.

DoJo · 22/06/2013 16:48

People spend much more - it doesn't seem particularly excessive to me although I wouldn't spend that much.

ParadiseChick · 22/06/2013 16:49

You could spend fuck all or £12 an invite. Who cares?

IsThisAGoodIdea · 22/06/2013 16:50

I would, if I really liked them. I spent a couple of quid on each of my DS's christening invitations. It was a special occasion, they were beautiful and the £40 it set me back did not leave us short.

JaquelineHyde · 22/06/2013 16:55

What kind of invites are they?

If they are bog standard invites that you buy in a pack from Sainsbury, then yes, that is crazy.

However, if they are hand made, individually crafted invites then that's actually quite cheap.

Personally, I really couldn't give a toss.

wonderingsoul · 22/06/2013 17:04

£45 for 30 invites? where they musical? did they read the invite to you.. did they magically turn into icecream..

im really intrigued to what they looked like.

theodorakisses · 22/06/2013 17:08

If you can afford it why not? Hate the competitive element though

candygirl78 · 22/06/2013 17:12

They were character ones so not all that special in my opinion.

OP posts:
edwardsmum11 · 22/06/2013 17:14

60p ain't that much tbh.

CloudsAndTrees · 22/06/2013 17:49

I'm surprised that you are are surprised.

That's nothing for fancy invitations, but it completely depends what these are.

You could post a link to them so we can judge properly. Wink

candygirl78 · 22/06/2013 18:00

They were just the sort you might get from party people. Quite nice but nothing amazing. Not personalised or specially printed.

OP posts:
marriedinwhiteagain · 22/06/2013 18:14

It doesn't sound that outrageous to me but mine ar 18 and 15 now and I remember thinking how expensive the invites were all those years ago. think I always did stingy party bags to make up for it

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 22/06/2013 19:35

Eternal did you really? Shock 45 pounds!! For 30 child's party invitations??

Gapes. Why were they special? Were they gorgeous?

LondonBus · 22/06/2013 19:37

Because they really like them.

And I sometimes wonder why people send such crappy cheap invitations.

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 22/06/2013 19:38

London I send cheap ones because I don't have money for expensive ones generally.
