No-one else's are. And I don't care in the slightest about hers.

Might be something to do with the guy she's married to

You know...whatsisname and family?

LadyCelia · 19/06/2013 23:44

And the Daily Mail don't have anything else to fill their front pages with for the next month.

Mintyy · 19/06/2013 23:46

Are they headline news in any paper other than the Daily Mail?

Monty27 · 19/06/2013 23:46

Yeh, fill the gap media...

AThingInYourLife · 19/06/2013 23:46

My favourite is the incredible news that William will be taking two weeks paternity leave! Shock

The fact they are famous doesn't really justify quotidian details of their life being given such prominence on news programmes.

Fakebook · 19/06/2013 23:46

I'd rather read about her birth plans than Kim kardashian's.

Jinsei · 19/06/2013 23:48

Yanbu. It isn't interesting.

WorraLiberty · 19/06/2013 23:49

Wait...

Perhaps the OP's talking about Katie Price? Shock

AThingInYourLife · 19/06/2013 23:50

The choice of maternity hospital and length of paternity leave were in BBC radio news (5 & 6) bulletins all day.

Pennyacrossthehall · 19/06/2013 23:51

Mintyy Are they headline news in any paper other than the Daily Mail?

Radio 4 news (twice in one bulletin)!!!

Well, we want to see where our "state handouts" are heading Wink

McNewPants2013 · 20/06/2013 00:11

Why we needed to know the queen don't want her sleep disturbed if Kate goes into labour in the night, I don't know.

Kate is having a baby, many women through out history have done it. I wish her all the best with the birth but I don't really know about her birth plan. Can't wait for the announcement I really hope it's a girl.

quesadilla · 20/06/2013 00:16

Come off it, this is as old as the hills. I'm old enough to remember when Diana was pregnant with William and there was more fuss then. I bet Queen Victoria's pregnancies were endlessly gossiped about.

OutragedFromLeeds · 20/06/2013 00:18

I think because the baby is going to be the heir to the throne? Because of the whole royal connection? That would be my guess.

Pennyacrossthehall · 20/06/2013 00:21

quesadilla I didn't care when Diana was pregnant either. I may be missing the point, but at least I'm consistent.

Monty27 · 20/06/2013 02:35

who cares?

Royalists. That's who, mostly.

From another point Kate and William, if its such a private matter, make it so.

I think so far the Leveson enquiry has done a fairly good job, another thread on its own I know.

notfarmingatthemo · 20/06/2013 04:47

Its news here in NZ as well. I think we all could of guessed which hospital.

SkiBumMum · 20/06/2013 04:53

Massive news in the US. My male colleagues haven't been asked their opinion. I have a million times. Grhh.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 20/06/2013 06:11

I suspect by putting out the details now they are preempting the press. If she goes into labour early there would be a feeding frenzy on the press, so by putting out the basic details now they are setting the ground rules and preventing speculation.

HouseinScotland · 20/06/2013 06:19

Kate and William, if its such a private matter, make it so

Yeah and while you're at it, get a real job and make yourselves useful!

It's obviously about press management. When I read this yesterday my main thought was 'why does she apparently get to choose whether to have a CS or not?'

Clearly money talks, but I thought the general rule was that it was medically preferred to avoid major surgery wherever possible and that there would be quite a bit of pressure to ensure a safe delivery above all else....

Obviously if there was a bloody good reason for a planned section that would be different, and none of our business what it was. Although the she'd probably have to release some info about it if she didn't want to be accused of being too posh to push forever after.

McNewPants2013 · 20/06/2013 06:32

William has got a proper job, unless you think being in the RAF isn't a proper job.

WhispersOfWickedness · 20/06/2013 06:41

I agree with Frankelly, I think it's to stop speculation on when/how/what we will hear about the birth, they have been very clear about the arrangements for the announcement and is a bit of a 'stop bloody pestering us, you'll find out when we're ready' message to the world. Which is fair enough, TBH, I felt the same when I went two weeks over Grin
I quite like that the official announcement will be a notice on the palace gates Smile

FreddoBaggyMac · 20/06/2013 06:42

YABU. It's so nice to have some cheerful 'news' occassionally rather than the normal doom and gloom.
