to have orgasms when I don't want them

I've namechanged for this and promise I'm not a wierdy troll.

I've never spoken to anyone about this before but am intrigued if it happens to others (too scared to google).

I have orgasms in odd situations. They always happen when I'm talking to people, either in person or on the phone.

The conversations are always really boring, not even remotely sexual or romantic, and with people who have very soft gentle voices. Doesn't matter if it's a man or woman.

I have no idea what this means or whether it is normal.

My partner does NOT have a soft gentle voice!

Anybody?

Hmm

I haven't experienced it personally but I read an article in glamour years and years ago about a woman who had 100s a day for no reason at all. It was part of a medical condition and she had the extreme version. I would recommend you chat to your GP. Don't be embarrassed.

daisygatsby · 11/06/2013 14:55

embarrassing presuming that you are not a weirdy troll, there was a thread on here a while ago about a kind of pleaseant tingling sensation that some people get in the situations describe. theres a proper named syndrome for it, but I can remember what it is.

could that be what youre talking about? or are you having a when harry met sally experience?

Umlauf · 11/06/2013 14:55

wikipedia article on the disorder

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 11/06/2013 14:56

Don't be scared to google. There is a medical condition called PSA.

Go to your GP. I believe there are pills you can take.

That will certainly be of more practical help than people sharing such stories on here.

Don't be embarrassed about it, your GP will have heard and seen it all!

hiddenhome · 11/06/2013 14:57

There are some documentaries on Youtube about this disorder. It's really distressing apparently.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 11/06/2013 14:57

ah, G not S.

LoopyLooplaHoop · 11/06/2013 14:58

Doesn't sound like such a bad thing to me.

embarrassinginpublic · 11/06/2013 15:01

that makes me feel better, thank you.

I'm not sure it happens regularly enough to warrant a visit to the G.P. but at least I know it's in the realms of normality Smile

Sorry, ....is it wrong to be a bit jealous of you Smile

ParadiseChick · 11/06/2013 15:02

Full blown orgasms? That most be exhausting!

Looks like a few people have heard of it though, good luck.

SlimePrincess · 11/06/2013 15:03

There's a condition called persistant genital arousal syndrome which sounds a bit like what you describe, op. There was a bit on the ricki lake show with a woman that suffered from it.

HeySoulSister · 11/06/2013 18:57

It's a disorder ?? Shock

LoSiento · 11/06/2013 19:04

Its a known medical condition. On the bright side, at least you're female.

C999875 · 11/06/2013 19:07

This is a real condition and it may be funny to some people but it really is no joke.

After all orgasms can be uncomfortable in the end can't they, as you can become sensitive. I can only manage one and then I need a break.
I even heard a story of a women who had an orgasm everytime she brushed her teeth! xx

exexpat · 11/06/2013 19:09

daisygatsby - was it the thread about ASMR?

embarrassinginpublic - does this sound familiar at all?

Weird but fascinating phenomenon.

Bowlersarm · 11/06/2013 19:10

Does it matter?

ParadiseChick · 11/06/2013 19:15

Obviously matters enough to the op!

drudgewithagrudge · 11/06/2013 19:18

My problem is quite the reverse. Since I have been taking Venlafaxine I find it impossible to have an orgasm.

MoodyDidIt · 11/06/2013 19:22

On the bright side, at least you're female

losiento :o

Agree, GP could help, either directly with medication or by referring you to a sexual dysfunction clinic.

daisygatsby · 11/06/2013 20:13

exexpat yes! That was it . ASMR

Socarrat · 11/06/2013 20:15

I had it when I was pregnant both times....it sounds great but it was really irritating....I assumed it was all the pressure.
