We have used a letting agency to find a tenant. They have found one but he has a ccj. He is in full-time employment and claims that he didn't know about the ccj. He has offered a large deposit (6 weeks rent) and a guarantor. Wwyd?

No, I wouldn't. If he truly didn't know about it, he would have appealed against it.

Six weeks deposit is barely more than a normal deposit so not much of a bargaining chip.

My son was horrified to find he had 2 ccjs when he tried for a credit card. They were for parking fines he dint know he had (parking eye). He had no notification through the post and nothing suggesting he had these 2 fines.

He sorted it. He is a single professional, good salary, no debts ever.

You.could miss out on a fantastic tenant; find out what they were for.
