to go on the rides at Disney land Paris?

I love theme park rides but am scared to death of getting to the front of the que then being embarrassed by not being able to go on them. I'm a size 18-20 but that's in generous shops like monsoon.

Sorry for posting this in AIBU but I want as many views as possible! hmmm maybe i should have name changed for this!

No idea of your height or weight. Don't wait for mumsnet haters. Ride restrictions will be posted on line. Don't spend a dime until you know!

ruby1234 · 04/06/2013 11:22

I've just been to Disneyworld in Florida - there were lots of people enjoying the rides who would have been much, much, bigger than a size 18-20.
Have a good time!
(and wear comfy shoes)!

angelos02 · 04/06/2013 11:22

It is hard to tell just from a size. How 'wide' you are would depend on how tall you are. A 6ft woman would carry a size 18/20 frame differently to someone much shorter for example.

DeafLeopard · 04/06/2013 11:24

YY to what angelos said.

kilmuir · 04/06/2013 11:24

Some are a bit snug

rainbowfeet · 04/06/2013 11:25

No, nowhere near too big, you'll be fine!! I love it there but then that's because I think I was s Disney princess in a previous life!! WinkWinkWink

I am a size 20 (again in generous shops) I do find rides a bit snug but haven't had any problems in the past and my issue is my boobies!

OctopusPete8 · 04/06/2013 11:27

You will some very obese people in America so I wouldn't worry too much.

lunar1 · 04/06/2013 11:28

I'm also scared of the plane seatbelt, I'd better check there website too!

Don't know about Paris, but in Disneyland California you would be considered svelte! I have never seen so many young overweight people in wheelchairs because they were so obese they could not walk more than a few steps.

CaptainSweatPants · 04/06/2013 11:29

When do you plan on going?
I'm 5ft 6 too & was 13st 10 ( size 18) a month ago
I've just lost a stone & plan to lose another before the summer holidays start
It's hard work but worth it !

By American standards you are tiny.

I'm a big arsed size 16 and nothing at Disney Florida is vaguely snug, unless they have redesigned everything smaller for Paris (which would be nuts) you'll be fine.

FobblyWoof · 04/06/2013 11:35

No you are not too big. The last time I went I was a size 18 and fitted on everything comfortably (well as comfortable as you can be being hurtled around on a ride Smile

This time I'm closer to a 20 but I'll also be pregnant so no rides for me!

lunar1 · 04/06/2013 12:11

I weigh quite a bit more than you captain at 16st 7lbs, I do get lots of exercise every day but have a poor diet. I think i could get down to 15st before we go if i work hard.

I live in NYC, where hordes of skinny people abound, so it was a shock to go to Disneyland in Florida a few years ago. I couldn't get over the fact that the vast majority of the people there were morbidly obese.

You'll be fine, OP.

muminthecity · 04/06/2013 12:48

I think you'll be fine. I went to Disneyland Paris a few years ago when I was a size 22 (I'm 5'8") and I went on all the rides without a problem.

lunar1 · 04/06/2013 12:53

OK my hips at the widest part are a disgraceful 51.6 inches. where else should i measure.

Anyone know where this info should be on the website, i could only fine a really general thing about height restrictions and health warnings.

You'll be fine x

crashdoll · 04/06/2013 21:32

I am 5'5 and was about a size 16 when I went to Disney. I reckon I was about 13.5+ stone at the time. (Gradually shifting the pounds now though and feel so much better for it, although it's been a big and somewhat difficult radical lifestyle change.) I had no problem at all, not even on the kiddie rides. :)

crashdoll · 04/06/2013 21:33

(I was talking about Disney Paris btw.) I certainly was not the biggest person there either.

mrsjay · 04/06/2013 21:38

i have been to disney florida and there is some big folk going on rides , check online for weight restriction but I really think it will be fine, some men will be your weight (that sounds awful but you know what i mean )

specialsubject · 04/06/2013 21:52

This is PARIS, folks. Not designed for Americans.

you are probably all right but why not email them with your weight and stomach circumference, as dress sizes are meaningless. They will then know if you will fit in the rides.
