To think DH is wrong?

He always pours the milk in and then puts in the cereal.

I, and everyone I have ever watched eat cereal, put cereal in, then milk.

AIBU? Am I wrong? DH is adamant.

That's weird very very weird, does he have a reason?

LoopyLooplaHoop · 02/06/2013 02:20

He is totally wrong and unreasonable.

lottiegarbanzo · 02/06/2013 02:27

Where did he get this idea? Why? What possible benefit could there be?

He's either very unobservant or should realise it's him against the rest of the UK population (and everyone else in the world I've ever seen eat cereal). He might think he's 'right' but he must know he's in a minority of one.

runawaysimba · 02/06/2013 02:32

What is his explanation? Bonkers.

squoosh · 02/06/2013 02:45

Weir-do!

Wylye · 02/06/2013 02:46

Madness. Utter madness.

He is not normal.

Onesleeptillwembley · 02/06/2013 02:47

LTB, that's weird.

squoosh · 02/06/2013 02:49

Next he'll be wiping his bum before he shits.

TheHerringScreams · 02/06/2013 02:56

Thanks. DH has been consistently doing it, and then looking at me doing it, and telling me his was the right way.

I'm very happy and smug now.

LTB

MisselthwaiteManor · 02/06/2013 04:31

I do that with cereal that's likely to go soggy too fast, like weetabix.

Ghirly · 02/06/2013 04:42

Weird!!

TotallyBursar · 02/06/2013 04:46

I have experimented with some cereal just now -

the problem with his way is cereal floats and so I got insufficient cereal floating dryly on top, had to poke it down with a spoon & add more. I also found I had a very inexact milk:cereal ratio measurement capabilities (due to dry floatiness). First it was too wet, then not wet enough.
All these things lead me to believe he is doing it purely to yank your chain - no man could bear such cereal inconsistency daily otherwise surely?
I don't doubt it would get better with practice but not to the extent it would become acceptable.

I used rice krispies, cornflakes, shreddies and spelt muesli - muesli fared pretty badly actually.
I tested exclusively on humans.

urtwistingmymelonman · 02/06/2013 05:49

how could you be with such a man? divorce him immediately!

FruOla · 02/06/2013 05:52

But surely when you pour - or plonk, if it's Weetabix - the cereal on top of the milk, then the milk splashes outside the bowl?

raisah · 02/06/2013 06:20

I do both depending on my mood, not helpful I know.

BlatantRedhead · 02/06/2013 06:51

He's clearly bonkers. LTB

Joiningthegang · 02/06/2013 06:53

Next you will be telling us he opens his crisps from the wrong end of the bag

ohforfoxsake · 02/06/2013 06:55

Do other members of his family act in this bizarre manner?

Snuffleupicus · 02/06/2013 06:56

I do this with cornflakes, and only put in a few spoons at time so they stay crunchy. I admit I'm weird tho.

lottiegarbanzo · 02/06/2013 08:59

We need to know the reason. This is disturbing behaviour. It must be explained.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 02/06/2013 09:07

Bonkers.

This would annoy me in a similar way to people who put the water in the glass then add the diluting juice. How does it get mixed properly????????

SoTiredAgain · 02/06/2013 09:11

I do this for my DS who doesn't like his cereal too soggy (especially as it takes ages for him to finish eating it)

DryCounty79 · 02/06/2013 09:19

Does he also pour the milk into the mug on top of the teabag, before pouring the water in?

Montybojangles · 02/06/2013 09:21

That's just wrong. How do you know how much milk you need if the cereal isn't already in the bowl?? Pour cereal onto milk and it will just float annoyingly surely.
