AIBU to think that having a desire for crap like crisps and choc is NOT a pregnancy craving?

I think the idea of cravings has been distorted. I have 2 DC and both times had full-on Pica. That's the need to eat weird things which aren't really food...also the need to smell certain things.
Mine were ice, smelling flash cleaner with bleach and coal.

THAT is a pregnancy craving. Fancying more Walkers than usual is not a craving.

Neither is a desire to gannet pies and cakes.

Mine were definitely cravings. Dairy anything in both pregnancies and yes I did have calcium deficiencies in both pregnancies.

In pregnancy one I also had a thing for apples. Apples, apples, apples. Couldn't get enough of them. In pregnancy two it was super hot curries at about 11 at night. Both odd for me. Your may call them not cravings, but I couldn't not eat them. The local curry house used to answer the phone hello mrs history girl, do you want your order as usual. Grin

Was a hardcore vegetarian before I became preggers, first 2 weeks of pregnancy HG set in and I couldn't eat a bloody thing except cheeseburgers from the hot cabinet in Spars. So there sat I, once a day, in my pyjamas crying and eating a sod awful cheeseburger.

For me it was carrots in early pregnancy. Raw & chopped into sticks. It was all I could eat for what seemed like forever. It got to the point where I had to limit my intake because I was so constipated! Blush

I'm now 39+2 & I actually feel ill if I don't have at least one orange lolly the fancy kind made from proper juice every day. I've not had one today because I had a dentist visit & the anesthetic has only just worn off but I'll have to have one before bed or I'll be up in the night to get one. Last time I missed a day I got up at 5am because I needed one.

I also have to have Maryland cookies & spearmint Rennies within arm's reach at all times. The combination of cookies & Rennies is regularly the only thing that can ease my stomach even now. That, or a hot chocolate with a spoonful of coconut oil in.

I can genuinely say I've had cravings for healthy things, unhealthy things & non-food things. It took all my self control not to go out & buy some nivea to eat with my finger out of the tub a few days ago! Hmm

I can't wait to get this baby out & eat like a sane person again!

I had a thing about sandwiches just before finding out I was pregnant. I NEVER eat sandwiches but I had one for dinner every day for weeks. And it had to be the exact same kind.

At about five weeks in I got a thing about cake. Again, when we get birthday cake given to us it usually stays on the side until it's rock hard then gets launched. Not this time, no cake was safe around me and nor was my husband if he didn't bring some home in the evening. It was unreal.

Yabu.

I had 2 very strong pregnancy cravings, I had a compulsion to suck wet newly washed clothes especially flannels. I also needed to drink a full sugar coke in the morning, never in my life have I bought full sugar coke, I had the occasional glass of diet coke pre pregnancy but whilst pregnant I became panicked if we had no coke in the fridge.

Both cravings were very real.

Another one I had - 7up! Not Sprite (and I could tell - no idea how but I could, I couldn't now.)

I had bottles of it everywhere. I work quite far away and would get really twitchy when I opened the last bottle in the car. Fortunately they were on offer in Tesco for most of my pregnancy. :)

Can't remember last having it now.
