Sorry, am on my phone so link may not work, it's an mmr leaflet given out by email by our local primary. I am very much pro-vaccination but am gobsmacked that "some mothers" are being singled out as to blame for the outbreaks. Ot's a government leaflet ffs!!

Haha, I didn't see the date this thread started. I clicked on the link and have been sitting here scouring the leaflet for the word 'mother' to no avail. Now I know why Grin

Good work!

That's great-they wrote back to me and apologised for causing offence but made no mention of changing it so well done!

Thanks for the well done messages. It is rubbish we had to complain, but hopefully somebody will think next time.

For those reading this for the first time here is a link to the original file as I found a copy on my phone:

docs.google.com/file/d/0B_RhQr5mLKP7YWpQMVlKcGhMX3c/edit?usp=sharing

And the offending para:

Why are we seeing these outbreaks of measles?
Measles is a highly infectious disease, spreading quickly from person to person, especially in schools. A child with measles will infect almost all unprotected children they have contact with. Although we have high rates of vaccination in the UK, the levels dropped some years ago when the MMR vaccine was mistakenly associated with autism. This led to some mothers not getting their children vaccinated and so measles is now spreading rapidly among these children.
